Sorry guys for the extra workload, but I will forget if I don't do it now....

Peloma Bokiou from Greece, active in the early 70's with a couple of singles and one full LP

samples are attached, not sure if it is good enough for Psych or sounds too Proto- for us....

track no.4 on the list is the most well known in Greece - I would invite those who know the band better than me to comment

thanksBig smile

No problem, thanks for the suggestion.

A couple of those tracks sound like Santana. The rest certainly has a psych feel... a borderline case maybe, but will ask the Psych Team to check it.

Peloma Bokiou, or Peloma Boqueu?

Anyhow, good texture indeed. Tend to "YES".

great suggestion, a borderline case indeed in prog terms, but a great find for all psych lovers.

I like this band and it's a shame they only ever released one album. Their material is very good and had good potential but somewhat underdeveloped, I mean that the tracks are somewhat short and seem to end too soon where there was plenty scope for expansion and improvisation.

They also released an album with new material in 1996, again self-titled: http://www.studio52.gr/info_en.asp?infoID=000002qg.

Then, in 2000s, one of the band's key members died (I don't remember his name, I've heard about it from a friend from Greece).

Interesting - I never knew they had a second album out.  I'd certainly be interested to hear it.

great band indeed, after the first round I would not say that this is a case for psych/space exactly.
There are a lot of samples to detect on youtube, what a mission!!! Shocked

I hear folk, psychedelia, some songs are more of a heavy rock character (Atomic Rooster), a latin touch in the vein of Santana ...

tend to say this would be an excellent addition to the proto prog category, however, the team will take time to come to a proper decision

btw - great to follow the live take from 2011!!!
