I think the rating is just fine on MD. It's really something for fans and no one else. At least, I'd never recommend it unless you were already a hardcore fan and wanted more than the usual studio/live albums. That said I do enjoy it, at least bits of it.
FWIW, IMO TLE may be a little high, as I think 3 star rating is right on the money for it. |

I don't think there's much material left that hasn't already been released from that tour.
Only for historical curiosity really. Unlike The Lost Episodes, I would say there's very little worthwhile music on it that can't be found somewhere else (although the original "Duke of Prunes" is nice). Except similar stuff to Joe's XMASage, if you have that one. Ahead of Their Time is awesome though.
Yeah, I don't know why those two haven't been released already.
Gail Zappa did mention at some point that there was another one.
Was it by any chance called Finer Moments? |

The PA page for Lumpy Gravy lists Patrick O'Hearn as performing bass and wind on the album. That can't be right. Could it be representing an 80s remix of the album? I thought that only happened to WOIIFTM, and with Arthur Barrow on bass anyway.

I remember hearing on zappa.com that the next volume in the Stage series would be the Roxy Shows.... Maybe that's what "Hollywood Concerts" means???

The original CD issue of Lumpy Gravy did have overdubs. And it was Art Barrow.

No, it didn't. A remix was made but never released until 2009 on the Lumpy Money boxset. The Patrick O'Hearn thing is a mistake though. |

I feel like some work needs to be done with Zappa's PA page. Lots of new info and data that needs to be updated to represent the 2012 reissue campaign, as well as mistakes that need to be fixed. |

I'll check my CD when I get home. It's the disk that has We're Only In It For The Money (with overdubs) paired with Lumpy Gravy. I haven't listened to that disk in years, but I could have sworn LG had overdubs too. |

OK, I listened to the disk.
It's much more subtle than Money, but there are a few parts where the bass especially sounds more modern.
FWIW, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lumpy_Gravy says that the Lumpy Money (one of the few FZ albums I don't have) liner notes say that Art Barrow and Chad Wackerman did add overdubs to Lumpy Gravy.
And the two paired album CDs (Money & Lumpy Gravy, Apostrophe & Overnite Sensation) should probably be added as compilations.

Also, Finer Moments and The Dub Room Special (album) should be moved to live albums, they are both live, though FM has some studio stuff, but it's predominantly live.
