Topic: Mew - Influence in your country Posted: January 05 2013 at 21:19 |
Mew have had a hand on some of the vocal styles in Norwegian alternative and indie and dare i say light prog scene, in vocal arrangement, but also in instrumentation and in shoogaze + prog rock elemented rock alternative
so yes Mew have had some thing to say in the way bands sound in Norway
how is this in other countries
i find Mew to have a very identifiable sound which i think newer bands are aspired to play long side or copy as Mew sounds always fresh and other bands wants to add freshens. i think ,

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

^ +1. What's the difference between "nothing I've heard" and "who's Mew"?

I'm sure some bands that are fans of Pokemon have made songs about Mew. Otherwise, not much influence.

I have heard a little bit of them. I've only met one person who knows them - which is how I heard about them - and she loved Mew to pieces, especially the singer. Very good vocals, I'd say. I've yet to really dig into them. Perhaps I should.
