The Game Informer issue dedicated to GTAV came out today digitally, and it is full of confirmed info and new screens. Here are a few bullet points about the game, copied and pasted from Kotaku.

  • According to Rockstar, Grand Theft Auto V's Los Santos is bigger than Red Dead RedemptionSan Andreas, and Grand Theft Auto IV combined. Yep. There's wilderness, a military base, and even an ocean floor to explore underwater.
  • You can switch between the game's three main protagonists at "nearly any time."
  • Those three protagonists, by the way, are named Michael, Trevor, and Franklin. Michael is a retired bank robber who gets sucked back into crime; Trevor is a career criminal and drug addict; Franklin is a 20-something street hustler.
  • Sometimes they'll work together on missions, during which you can switch back and forth from character to character depending on which part of a given mission you feel like doing.
  • Each character has his own personality, skill set, and group of friends to interact with. And the ones you're not controlling will go off and do their own thing.
  • This is the same world as Grand Theft Auto IV and Liberty City, so you might see some recurring characters from those games (just not the major ones, like Niko Bellic). But. Rockstar says this is the "high-definition" world of Grand Theft Auto, so don't expect to see anyone from the PS2-era titles.
  • Remember those randomized dynamic missions in Red Dead Redemption? They're back forGTAV: expect hitchhikers, muggers, and dead bodies, among others.
  • Yes friendships. No romance.
  • Rockstar says there will be an economy, but you won't be able to buy properties. There will be "loads of other stuff."
Here are the three protagonists:

After today, I don't care if I ever see Mario again.  Stern Smile

Also, I hate World 7-1.  Stupid pipes.

I remember developing a huge blister on my thumb from playing Mario 3. Very painful. LOL

I think I'll be close to finishing the Mass Effect trilogy today and then I can start Assassin's Creed III.  Or I could continue my Silent Hill playthroughs with SH3.  Not sure yet.

Played massive amounts of Minecraft, Unreal 1, Zork, and Master of Monsters today. I'm trying to recoup from my Skyrim binge over the weekend.

Finally got a decent chunk of time into ACIII.  The game actually feels fun and open ended once you start playing as Conner.  I just spent 4 hours hunting animals and taking down forts and just exploring, really.

Main two games lately have been Saints Row the Third and Dead Island.  Dead Island's fun with friends, Saints Row is fun alone.  And absolutely hilarious a lot of the time.

I'll have to decrease the difficulty setting for a while.

This is how I was with F1 2011.  It absolutely depressed me that I couldn't handle the hardest difficulty in a racing game, but it's just that damn realistic and hard.

This.  I downloaded version 2 of it last night, in which they added passwords and adjusted the difficulty a little bit.  Awesome fan-made, but Capcom backed, game! Big smile

Ever since I joined the Steam PA group, I've been playing Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. Not really mind-blowing but pretty addictive and lots of fun ... just hearing those warriors dying, blood flowing out of their throats ... . Like I said - lots of fun. The learning curve ain't that steep if you are willing to put in hours of kicking a$$.
