Hello all, yesterday I added a rare single for Italian dark prog band Antonius Rex here:

Antonius Rex - Pig In The Witch (1992)

http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=39586

I also put up a review a few hours later for the wretched thing too!

Correction required please -
Capture The Sun's rework of their self-titled debut http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=39646 should read (8-Bit Version) and not (8-BIT VERSION). Thanks!

And this EP http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=39647 for D.U.N.E. http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=7176 seems to have been released somewhat before the official release date?!

I corrected this, but it looks like a duplication.

What the hell 8-bit version means? Is it the same music as on "normal" album: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=7261?

I don't like additions made long before the release date, but it's not against the rules to add such albums.

They only should not be reviewed or rated before the date.

Good question. It's a different version of the "same" composition, released two months later than the original. Haven't heard the 8-bit version but I'd expect it to sound pretty different. So no, it isn't I believe a duplication. That said, you'd probably have to be a big fan of the band or of 8-bit music to want both! LOL

And so we all know (I didn't!) - from Wikipedia, "A chiptune, also known as chip music or 8-bit music, is synthesized electronic music often produced with the sound chips of vintage computers, video game consoles, and arcade machines, as well as with other methods such as emulation."

A bit of strange one, this. I haven't taken the information from a pre-release press statement. The short EP is currently freely downloadable from the band's Bandcamp site. The release date is that quoted by the band. They obviously couldn't wait to share their music until afte the official release date Big smile

OK, you're right.

I've listened a bit of the album: http://capturethesun.bandcamp.com/ and its 8-bit version: http://capturethesun.bandcamp.com/album/capture-the-sun-8-bit-version. The latter is a joke or total crap (or both), but definitely it's different. LOL

If the band already shares their songs for free, the release date on Bandcamp (not in the form of CD or LP etc) in December has no sense at all.

Thus I've changed the release info this way "Released on Bandcamp in 201" (http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=39647).
Otherwise I have no idea how admins would manage ratings before the release date if EP is actually released now.
