Hey Todd, in regards to the `Court - Twenty Flying Kings' album, a friend sent me two mp3s from it, and I have to say, I'm a little concerned with the English language vocals.
You sort of mentioned the other day that you were a little let down by the album, is it because of this? What I want to know is, should I still proceed and buy the album? I've got it waiting in an order that I haven't finalized yet, and I'm wondering if I should still get it. Does it improve and reveal interesting music throughout the whole album? If anyone else has heard it, please comment and offers some opinions! |

I received the album in an order from BTF the other day but haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. I'll try to grab a quick listen and let you know.
Btw, enjoyed your recent Abiogenesi review. I've had an eye out for that album for a while but am now resigned to probably having to buy a download. Also enjoyed your Earth & Fire review, i'm a big fan of their later stuff.

Hey there, thanks for your words, and for checking out that Court album! How funny you mention an Abiogenesi download, literally five minutes ago I was just logging on to Amazon to purchase their first self-titled album for $5.98 US (You can also get that `Il Giocoscuro’ album for the same price, which I think is the one you referring to that I reviewed?), only to get to the final checkout section and it telling me `Sorry, at this time we do not sell digital downloads outside the U.S' !! ![]() I'm not called AUSSIE-Byrd-Brother for nothing! Anyway, if you live in the States, snap them up, they'd both be a steal for that price. Of course, I'd love a cheaper CD/Vinyl reissue, but this will have to do for now. Abiogenesi also have a newer album from a year or so back called `Insectus (something)' that is only available as an LP, and I haven't got around to snapping it up yet. I'm going to work my way through the Earth and Fire albums over the next week or so, so I'll probably get to those albums you like soon too! |

^ You're very welcome!
![]() No I don't live in the States, I'm in Blighty... so it'll be interesting to see if I can get that Giocoscuro download.
Another of your reommendations (from another thread) I'll need to check out is the Morte Macabre.

Oh, yes, please look into the Morte Macabre album, it's wonderful!
It's dark and eerie, soaked in Mellotron! My buddy from the Archives Tom Ozric and I have had it for endless years, and it still seems very easy to obtain copies on both double LP and CD, and every once in a while we go `HOW is no-one snapping that album up, it's a classic?!'. It perfectly compliments many of the 70's Italian Goblin albums, but plenty of ideas of it's own! By the way, re your Avatar, I really like Keane, but have not heard their most recent album! The last one I was got was that 80's poppy inspired one from a few years back, which I came to like after being so shocked when I first heard it! I really liked their `Iron Sea' album, actually reminded me a little in parts of 80's synth heavy Genesis - and `Crystal Ball' is a terrific pop track! ![]() Edited by Aussie-Byrd-Brother - November 01 2012 at 17:35 |

Completely off topic, if you guys like horror soundtracks and Morte Macabre, you should check out Nicklas Barker's "El Ultimo Fin de Semana." It's similar to Morte Macabre, which you'd expect.
Still haven't listened to Court again, but I hope to tomorrow...

Todd, there's been a topic elsewhere on the Forum with someone asing for suggestions of Italian related horror soundtracks, and I just thought of that one while I was out today! I bought the vinyl of it a while back, but I sadly feel I haven't given it enough of a listen yet!
Just like you've said, it perfectly compliments the Morte Macabre album. Closest thing we've had to a `sequel' to it, I suppose! I'll post the album details on that thread now! |

To stay in the dark shadow of Jacula, you should listen to this rare one from 1979.

No, Jim, I still have not it. As you said the other day, the second half of the seventies is full of treasures. Maybe I should contact the gentleman from Florence to ask him what it really was. Would you accept to interview him if he's ok to answer ?

Just trying to get up to date here, but things move so quickly thanks to all the cool cats lurking around here
![]() Monsieur duck - that creepy Jacula scented album is really speaking to me, so thanks for the rec! Too bad it probably will be obscure as a bearded lady, but nevermind - bringing these kind of things out in the open is always a start. I truly believe that. Maybe in a few years, when the rest of the world has realised what an awesome style of music RPI is, and just how deep and diverse the bugger is - maybe then we'll start seeing a flood of reissues and brand new vinyl pressings... ![]() Edited by Guldbamsen - November 02 2012 at 11:21 |

Speaking about those wonderful Italians, I recently came across Picchio dal Pozzo's second album, which by some strange and completely unfair touch of faith only got released in 2001
![]() Here's a clip from it. Il Presidente

Dave, I don't know if you have read it afew pages earlier, but I met in Florence last week the producer of the Kay Hoffmann album Floret Silva. He recorded the disc in 1978, but it was only available for the first time in 1992
