Yay rain. It keeps the yanks in it for another day.
First time I have ever gone to a game that got rained out without any rain. Absolutely f**king ridiculous. It finally started to sprinkle around 10:00 and I don't know that it ever rained hard enough that they would have delayed the game. Maybe by 11:00. They did it to "preserve the integrity of the 9 inning game" but this was complete and utter bullsh*t. If they want to preserve the integrity of the game then I want to be reimbursed for my $20 parking and $20 in food that I purchased at price gauge induced prices. Not to mention getting reimbursed for any time off of work that I might have to take on Friday if there is a game 5.
Sounds like you got shafted.

It's a dark day for baseball. I can't dislike the Tigers, though, as they do have the MVP of my now 4 time championship keeper team (Cabrera) and Jim Leyland.

Good.
With one of the worst offensive post seasons, even for us, over I can start rooting for my #2 team the St Louis Cards!
Thank goodness they always seem to be around picking up when my Yanks fail me miserably
I'm rooting NL regardless, no way the Tigers can win.
Not really sure how you can say that. The Tigers just clobbered the Yankees with one Fielder and one Cabrera tied behind our backs, given that neither of them really contributed all that much until game 4. A
Also, might it just be possible that the Yankees hitters having problems may have had something to do with the pitchers that the Tigers were throwing at them.

My only concern for the Tigers if they play the Cardinals is their releif pitchers. Only because St.Louis is known for their late game heroics and if Valvarde's confidence is shot or if someone is sent out to do his job in such a high pressure atmosphere i'd be worried. On paper Detroit wins but if i was a betting man i'd pick St.Louis. It's very close though. Really looking forward to this World Series and they played each other for the Series in 2006 right ? Revenge time for the Tigers .

Relief pitching is definitely a concern. The Yankees and A's were 1-2 in come from behind victories this year and the Tigers survived 2 blown appearances by Valverde. In interviews, he claims that he has figured out what he was doing wrong. I guess that will remain to be seen. I am perfectly surprised that the Tigers have made it this far. I had them written off for dead when they got swept by the Twins in that September doubleheader. If someone had told me that the Tigers would sweep the Yankees in the ALCS with Delmon Young being the MVP, Jhonny Peralta being a close 2nd for MVP, and Phil Coke being the star reliever/closer I would have called for the men with the white coats.

The nice thing about Detroit sweeping the Yankees is that they can set up their pitching the way they want it which will be an advantage especially if SanFran wins the next game and prolongs that series.
ooo you think I meant like the Tigers physically cant win?
nah they absolutely can, I meant like "they better not win"
And you beat the Yanks in the post season, congrats. That's a huuuge achievement. They only put up what was actually one of the worst post seasons ever
Anyway I DO like the Cardinals so this works out. Even if the Giants take it thats fine, I just dont want Detroit to win. One as the team that beat us, two partially to shut yo face up
Damn where did your old signature go. I wanted to copy and paste it as my response.
No joke here, what do you mean? It's been "Witty Quote" ever since I began at PA.
Its something that has only come up rarely but many Yankee fans are thinking it....A rod is getting older sure, but he has a real massive drop in production, has been getting hurt every year....man boobs sprouted. These are the classic signs of steroid use, well ending steroid use. Common sense would have to say that ending the roids at a time when you are naturally getting older is not good for production and the mental aspect of "im a f**kin god I'll hit homers in my sleep" is also gone...and A Rod has for years been anti clutch. The evidence is certainly piled up.
On the radio this morning I actually heard a great point, when these steroid era players get to their 50s and later...its gunna be a very sad time. What they've done to their bodies for success then is really gunna be miserable for the rest of their life. Very sad.
