The Cards and Giants sure have the playoff experience to meet in the next round.
I guess you could say the same for the Tigers and Yankees or maybe it's more the inexperience of the Orioles and A's.
I really think a National League team will win it this year although if there's one American League team that can match up well pitching-wise it's the Tigers. We'll see and it should be fun.

I felt like a cat going through it's nine lives during Jay Bruce's last at-bat. Too bad they couldn't make anything out of it. I'm curious how many calls for Dusty's head are going to be coming in the next few days, as well as if there's going to be new management next season.
Oh well. I guess I'm back to rooting against the Cards first and Yankees second.

The Reds' loss makes me sad as they have been my favorite NL team since I was a young 'un.

Yeah, I'm only about 10 minutes across the river from Cincinnati, so I've grown up mostly with the teams in the 2000s who did diddly squat outside of 2000 and 2005, so 2010 and this year proved to be much better. I think devastated describes my feelings pretty well right now. ![Ouch Ouch](smileys/smiley18.gif) Have to give the Giants congrats for the way they managed to come back though. Boche did a hell of a job managing through these last 3 games, and they definitely deserved the wins. Like I said though, at this point, I'm going to move on and by tomorrow, I'll probably be looking forward to next year. Best thing I can do is be optimistic about it. ![Smile Smile](smileys/smiley1.gif) @Scott: Yeah, that pretty much sums up today for the Tigers.

I really hate that almost all of the Yankees "scrubs" are former all-stars. Basically, Verlander needs to pitch a complete game shutout tonight if the Tigers are going to have any chance of salvaging their series tonight. |
Of course the lil truth most choose to ignore is that every team would capitalize if they could. Except the Mets who have taken a self destructive philosophy recently but what else can you expect from them? As for my beloved Yanks I am still fed up with their long ball addiction. The one positive about A Rod, he's a pressure vacuum. He sucks up all pressure. There has barely been a peep about the continued struggles of Teixeira, Swisher, even Granderson and frighteningly...Cano. But hey, pitching has been great, bullpen has been good...I'll at least accept making it past round one ![LOL LOL](smileys/smiley36.gif) It has been some great games Jody. O's have played damn tough, and the WHOLE post season has been tight. There is really no dominant team or clear front runner. It's all a battle.

Speaking of the Mets being self-destructive, I'm ready to start taking bets for the chances that Dickey gets traded away for prospects. $5 anyone? $10? Can I get $20???
Sorry, that was a terrible joke. But I feel very bleh after today's game so bad humor helps a bit right now.

I really did feel for Dickey, good guy on a sh*t team. I did hear that no one, possibly even Dickey, is safe. Could be talk, but there were many rumors of just tearing down the whole thing. Oi this is painful! Naturally our best on base position resulted with A Rod being in the big chair, obviously he flopped ![Cry Cry](smileys/smiley19.gif) Pretty much Jeter, Ichiro and Russel Martin are the offense. That =/= successful post season

See Jody? You shoulda had the same faith in the Yanks that I did! They almost made me doubt myself, but in the end they pulled through just as I thought they would! Shame they wasted another pretty damn good pitching outing.

Verlander was a beast.
If the Cards win the series I'll throw up, otherwise I don't really care.

Haven't been paying much attention recently; how the hell did the Giants end up winning that series? If the Cardinals win their series then I'll be cheering for the AL team by default or maybe just giving up on baseball entirely. The regular season is all that matters for fantasy purposes, anyway.

MC Hammer threw out the first pitch before last night's game. Meanwhile, Justin Verlander was thinking...
