I never said you were mentally ill, nor do I think you are. I said only the mentally ill don't make rational decisions. You do make rational decisions, you just don't realize it.
I have been trying to have a grown up conversation with you, which I now see was a mistake. I never called you any names or insulted you personally. You, on the other hand, have taken every opportunity to insult me and my country, culminating with comparing me to Hitler.
You constantly condescend to others as if your having the good fortune to be born in an environment where you could learn seven languages at a young age somehow makes you a better communicator, yet you have been unable or unwilling to understand anything I have said, despite my repeated attempts to clarify.
You have made yourself look bad and have turned a perfectly lovely thread about accents into a hateful, loathsome thing. I hope you are pleased with yourself.

No I am not wrong! And I completely disagree with your assessment, so I will not bow to llama's lurid comments regardless of how many allies he has out there. The mentally insane part was wholly unnecessary and was definitely directed as personal. Read the context and it becomes quite vivid. The world is not governed by logic, by design and most of it is roll of dice. History books are littered with examples. When you make love , there is no cost analysis, when you are hungry or thirsty , the same applies. There has been a long held war between the Cartesians and the idealists since time immemorial. The discourse has barely changed. I have made decisions that have been massive (missing a plane that crashed and killed everyone on board, not because I made a cost analysis but because of other less pragmatic reasons) and it had no concrete foundations. Call it gut instinct, an omen, or something even beyond that. The explainable still rules, whether we accept that or not.
I wasn't patronizing you at all, I have infinite respect for your recent ordeals. At my age, I do not have to kiss anyone's "culo". So I won't !

Condescending and ridiculous! What else do I not realize? That you are telling me I am mistaken? Being judged by you is no prize, as you are an expert manipulator of words . You set the bait and then pounce. I bet you are a New Yorker with right-wing republican tendencies, so why be so upset with someone who disagrees with you about language and principle ? The lovely thread started about accents and YOU brought in the cost-benefit argument as IRREVOCABLE. Why? My reputation on PA is very well established (as I have mentioned earlier) and have never had any kind of innuendo-laden discourses of this kind before and if I look bad to some , so be it! I factored that in my cost-benefit analysis!
I promised to never again get into politico-historic discussions on the Internet and I deeply regret that I may have offended anyone. I have always conducted myself as a gentleman and I have lost my cool only because I do not like people pricking me with thinly veiled insults. As I stated earlier, this thread was hijacked for no reason other than word prickliness. I said that Americans have no need to learn other languages and that is a pity. A few American and non-American members wholly agreed with that statement. The same applies here in Canada where we have 2 linguistic solitudes. I have never insulted Americans as claimed by some (please find me a sentence) . I just simply stated that if everyone would strive to learn another tongue, the world may become a better place. There are people who, everywhere they go, they see conflict. They tend to say that people in general are f**ked up. What they don't realize is that, if everywhere they go they end up in the middle of a conflict, the problem might not be the other people, but themselves.

You didn't apologize for the Hitler part and the worst thing is that anyone with a very basic knowledge of English would have understood what Logan was saying about rational decisions and mentally handicapped people. He was never attacking you.

You have just reiterated the slander by stating that I do not have "very basic knowledge of English" since I did not wish to comprehend what Logan said about rational decisions.
