RYAN HUNTER-REAY! Congrats to our 2012 Indycar Champion, and it's so great to see an American win it. I do feel for Power, I like the guy and he finishes 2nd for the 3rd time...must be maddening.

Indeed!
And poor Power. The William Jennings Bryan of Indycar at this rate...

Oh sorry. He was an american politican from way back when. He ran for president several times and always came up short of victory. Power, unfortunately, also seems to be just off when the title is near. And drop Alonso from that and you have a winner.

Excellent lap for Hamilton, surprised Vettel didnt offer a sterner challenge in the end. Excellent lap from Maldonado as well, the real question is whether he'll keep it clean or not.
Good ol WJB, though at least 2nd out of the 30+ in indycar is a great result. In a Presidential election 2nd out of 2 isn't so great
Wow, McLaren has really ironed out the kinks. I think of Singapore as Alonso's territory but he's starting 5th sooooo at this track maybe he can reach 3rd

Power probably feels just as bad though, esp now after all this time...coming so close.

Certainly an unusual incident, which was pretty much all this race had. Another fairly dreadful Singapore GP. The schumi crash, a few nip and tuck battles, and the mechanical failures were the only excitement.
Shame for Hami, and Maldonado who has had his share of self induced wounds, but another mechanical issue dashed another good run.
Congrats to Vettel, Di Resta with a great 4th place, Massa who clawed from last to finish 8th, and Timo Glock in the Marussia who grabbed 12th. I believe that's the teams best finish, and even the best of all 3 backmarkers.
The title is far from over, though I feel it's really down to just Alonso and Vettel...and the latter is in the catbird seat.

Can I borrow your crystal ball as you predicted Alonso would finish 3rd. You're right, 12th is the best ever finish for Marussia/Virgin, and I think it's the best finish this year for any of the three backmarkers so that would give them 10th in the championship and the extra cash that goes with it.

My bad, that's actually what I meant (best finish for the 2 backmarkers this year, sorry if it was unclear). I wonder if Catherham or Marussia will manage to grab at least one 10th place finish before the year is up. Good result regardless!
Thank you thank you. Some luck was involved but it is a team sport after all, and equipment is part of it.
Gunna be a great finish, I believe Vettel has overcome a larger gap in the same amount of races in 2010 so Alonso isn't close to safe yet.

I think it's a case that this is the second time he's taken someone out this way (Senna at Barcelona) this year, but I still think a 10 place, instead of 5, penalty is a bit harsh.
