The league has been created, pm with your e-mail and you will receive and invite some time afterward.

With 8 people, what kind of roster are we wanting. I prefer only having 1 QB but I could go either way.

Here's what I'd like, but please post what you would like to have - 1QB, 3WR, 2RB, 1TE, 1WR/RB/TE, 1kicker, 1 Def, 6 Bech.

THat's fine with me.

I'll play, but be warned, I have no idea what I'm doing.

Can I pick guys at random?

You know, I have always prided myself on learning the rules to a game before I play.  So I'm off to Wikipedia!  LOL

Sure, some people just have it auto pick for them, which you could do and get a decent team. (although is doesn't take into account injured/traded players, just last seasons stats). If you can make it to the live draft I don't think it would be hard to pick players based on the information provided (last years stats and such) and a bit of intuition. It would also let you see what players the other people are choosing, and what round they chose them in, something that could be useful to aid you in what position (QB,RB, etc) to pick.

I think I understand the game much better now that I've looked it up.  Thumbs Up

I'll make an effort to craft a winning crew.  How does the live draft work though?

When we can reach a consensus as to when it will be held, no later than 9/2, then everyone will log into the league at designated time(via yahoo) and a random order will be chosen. I believe we are using the centipede style where the order wraps around and the first and last place person get to pick back-to-back(twice). It will probably take a total of 40-60 minutes to complete, and has a built in chat so you can lay down some smack talk. I submit we do it on Wed 8/29 sometime mid-day, but my schedule is very accommodating so I'll be able to fit anytime.

I work 8-4pm EST.

Can you check to see if I have created a team?  I entered a name and preferences, but it just threw me to some kind of home page.

I forgot about mock drafts. You can always participate in one of those and get the feel of how it plays out. You'd also get a lot of info about what players are popular choices. They can drag on a bit, but you do get a nugatory yahoo medal for completing one. ((_8^(I) mmmm nugatory

I got a pop up saying our draft is on Sept 2, a Sunday at 4pm.  Is that accurate?

If we did do a 6 person league I'd like to have a bigger line-up than usual. Something like :

2 QB
3 WR
3 RB
2 TE
1 WR/RB/TE
Kicker
Def/Special

*This would be a head to head league.

As always suggestions are encouraged. But if in the next 2 days we don't see any more people signing up I will send out invites to the league. After that we can reconvene here and hash out when the draft will be/starting line ups.

I play on Yahoo in 12 team head-to-head leagues and weekly rosters are:

1 QB
3 WR
2 RB
1 TE
1 K
1 Def

Are we doing full drafts?

That is time consuming and I've already done that this year,I prefer an auto draft.

I prefer a real draft. If you don't want to participate, the system will autodraft for you. It's a win-win.

My account is created. It should be fairly easy to see that I'm the one with the Euler avatar and the eagles/math pun.

I love (what I assume to be Anton's) name.

^ You assume right.  I do challenge everyone, especially JJ, to step up and be equally creative.  Of course, it could be that your references are over my head.
