Valverde blows this year. 2 hit batters 2 walks blows a 3 to 2 lead, and yet gets the win when our 3rd string catcher hits a walk-off sacrifice fly. Tigers are batting a mind blowing .114 with the bases loaded this year.

Ended up selling my tickets for today's game with Verlander pitching. We were really hoping to make some pretty good money on Stub Hub, with the Yankees in town and Verlander pitching but as usual, Stub Hub has sold us a dream that they cannot maintain. When Stub Hub first came out, it did a pretty decent job for selling our tickets for games that we couldn't attend, but these days we are usually just better off getting the Goodwill that comes from giving the tickets away to friends, family, and complete strangers. Sadly, with the signing of Prince Fielder, season ticket sales increased significantly mostly for the express purpose of people trying to make money selling their tickets on Stub Hub.

Guys are letting this thread slip away, like the Red Sox.
I called the Yanks to improve and they seem to be on the road. Pitching is getting better, (not to mention CC and Nova are both currently on pace for 20 win seasons) and the offense may finally be starting to awaken. Cano has been turning it on, and I actually am getting some good feeling from A Rod. Jeter is still a hitting machine and the Grandy Man is on pace for over 45 home runs. Hope it maintains and continues to improve! |

Speaking of pitching...the crazy pitching continues!
2nd perfect game of the season. Matt Cain of the San Fran Giants. Threw 14 K's in his perfect game, tying Sandy Koufax. That is one hell of a night. |

I didn't watch too many of the games earlier on in the season. I was just getting too frustrated. As of late however, I am starting to like what I see. Sweeping the Mets is always a treat.

Well it's nothing new. Honestly I can barely muster the will power to watch the first 2 months (which continued this year). They always start so damn slow. |

Haha yeah it would, but more than weird...it'd feel a bit tainted ya know? Like yeeeaah you needed an appeal, (unless it's clearly definitive, like the guy that got robbed of the perfect game a couple of years ago). Funny though RA Dickey is currently tied for the most wins in MLB. 10-1 he's never been this good before! Imagine if this keeps up and he finishes 24 wins Edited by JJLehto - June 14 2012 at 10:31 |

Very true. It seems they get stuck in vacation month a couple of months longer than the other teams. However, the way they play for the rest of each year is stellar. Imagine if they did that all year long.

The Tigers and Cubs set a Wrigley Field 3-game attendance record this series. You can hear loud chants of Let's Go Tigers during the game, and apparently when they sang take me out to the ballgame, "root root root for the Tigers drowned out "root root root for the Cubs". I came really close to going to Chicago, but decided not to go since I have been so disgusted with the Tigers this year.

Went to todays Jays/Phillies game. It was the first game I've attended that went to extra innings (no, I haven't been to tons of games), and thankfully the Jays climbed back to win in spite of another poor outing by Romero. With the way things have been going lately I expected Romero to join starters Morrow (who has been phenomenal this season), Drabek, and Hutchison on the DL. Frankly, the guy could use some time off.

Enjoying the Bucs/Tigers game at the moment. If it stays the same it looks like the only win we'll get this weekend.

At least we got to take the series with the Tigers this time. Thank goodness for G. Jones or it would have been a shutout Sunday.

The Tigers' offense has been a major disappointment this year. They were talking about all of the offensive records that might be set with the addition of Fielder to the line-up. I believe that the only offensive records that might be within reach are those involving ineptness.

Well, don't fret too badly Scott.
Nothing can be more enraging/embaressing than the Yankees offense with runners in scoring position. I believe it's a collective .154 at the moment and is worst in MLB. I almost wish the offense was just bad, then you expect and understand it but that record is ridiculous when you have the guys we do. Especially Cano. Supposed to be one of the most naturally gifted, and smoothest hitters in the game and 36 RBI on 16 HR? Granderson...I love the guy but 41 RBI on 21 HR? How whack are those numbers? Been the case for years too, (and their play off woes) it must be mental. IDC I still say the chemistry has been f**ked up ever since A rod has been here. Edited by JJLehto - June 25 2012 at 18:35 |

I know that when the Tigers played the Yankees a few weeks ago, the Tigers were batting .134 with the bases loaded while the Yankees were the 2nd worse at about .170. Of course, shortly after they flashed that stat Granderson hit a grand slam. The Tigers really haven't done too much since to improve upon those numbers, although I don't know where the stats stand at this point.
