It wasn't "bucketing down".

It was not long after the race had finished. It was heavy enough to have affected the race anyhow.

Congrats to Kasey Kahne for winning the 600. Deserved the victory from what I saw.

Yeah, his car definitely became the dominant one once the sun was down completely.  Dario got his 3rd Indy 500 and Kasey got his 3rd Coca Cola 600 today.

One more Memorial Day racing weekend gone. Unhappy Best racing weekend, period.  One whole year until we get to experience it again.

Yes, the rain was bucketing down at the end.  I wish either it had come earlier, or the had been yellow and/or safety car out for a bit longer, so to delay the ending by 5 or 10 minutes.  The rain would have made it far more exciting.

I feel terrible for Button.  He got stuck behind Kovaleinen on a track that was difficult to overtake on.

Also, I missed the post-race interviews.  What exactly happened with Schumacher?

And also, what on earth hit Hamilton on the head?

Well the last quarter of the race was interesting for the fact that the first 6 cars were so close together, and the light rain threw some suspense in. Too bad nothing actually exciting happened in the end.

Schumi retired for a fuel pressure problem, and Lewis complained that some of the slips used to make the signals on the pitboards fell down and hit him in the helmet.

Thanks for that, I hadn't seen what Schumii's problem was or what had hit Lewis.

Last years race was quite tense and exciting with 3 cars nose to tail on tyres of differing age, this years race had 6 cars nose to tail, all doing the same thing 9or near enough) and was quite boring. Still, Canada next, always a good race.

I presume Button went out 'cause he damaged his car trying to get past Kovalainen?

Sorry for such minimal response, was away for the weekend with friends. Caught Monaco, (thank goodness people dont like waking up early) but missed the entire Indy 500.

Awesome to see Webber win, and a great podium IMO (though I know most of you will loath Alonso being on it)

Of course Alonso currently leads the points : D

Hope the 500 was awesome, cool to see Dario win! Kanaan in thirdBig smile
I heard Rubens lead a few laps as well.

Good times all around!

^Yep, I can't stand Alonso but I can't deny he is a brilliant driver. gets the most out of his car.

Actually I don't like Webber much  either.

Well you brits don't like anyone who's name isn't Hamilton or Button : P

I KID I KID
Relax

But it seems everyone hates Alonso, still not sure why but he is indeed driving the wheels off that car.
It may be improving/will over the season but thanks to his hot start with the original Ferrari PoS he'll be in it to the end now.
I would love to see Another Alonso title, or the first for Webber.

Still so early though, and with how the year has been and field so strong I do believe the top 6 all have a chance at the title. Maybe Kimi is a bit of a stretch, and Button could still be in it if he stiffens up quick.

Well Kimi was always my boi.
With Alonso as #2, though obviously he got bumped after Kimi take his hiatus.

Those 05, 06, 07 seasons were good ones for me.

I liked JPM too.

JJ will come out of retirement, take Massa's seat and win all the remaining races.

^Only if he avoids prison.

Anyone like to place bets on who else will win a race this year, I can easily see Schumacher, Hamilton and Raikkonen all getting onto the top step and maybe even Grosjean and one of the Saubers. And Williams still have a quick race car.

I cant remember the last time we had a season with 9 different winners.

Perez too.

Not sure who else.  Perhaps maybe Kobayashi.

I can't see Senna winning a race though.

lol if only

....if only he wasn't going to jail for drunkenly killing those people with his boat

edit: ninja'd by Sleeper

Yeah...Hamilton is still sure to win, and I'd bet money Kimi will, as well as Schumi (if he conquers this sh*t luck). Grosjean can nab a win as well.

Sauber may be a bit less likely, but in right conditions I do think it's entirely possible. Would love to see it happen.

I think there's some kind of appeal hearing over Lehto's sentence, he's pretty adamant that it was his friend driving the boat.

The only reason I even know about it is because Vompatti told meLOL
That was a while ago, and sounded like it was a pretty sure thing, but guess he may have some chance to fight it.
Though of course he'll try to shirk responsibility. He was involved with the Senna crash in 94....bad track record Wink
