Since when was Beckett reliable??

Well I remember a game or two during his time with the Marlins and Sahx he was pretty good... wait I think that was a few years, guess it's always a case of what have ya done for me lately??
Such a capitalist thing to do Roy Tongue you pigdog

Great game today, Phil Hughes really shut down the Mariners (OK they're a bit anemic I know but still a good game) and Jeter keeps on hitting. One helluva year thus far for the old captain.
Jeter, Cano and the Grandy Man are really producing thus far. BTW thanks Scott for Granderson Wink

Excited and nervous for Pettitte's debut tomorrow.

^My concern, come playoff time, is still pitching.  If Texas stays healthy and/or Detroit's hitters start clicking either looks like they could just clobber their way past NY.  Then, of course, there's Tampa which looks like it might have the best top-to-bottom pitching staff of the playoff teams (don't think the Angels will be making it).  The Yanks strength was the bullpen and that was blown up shagging fly balls so I'm not too optimistic, right now.

Also, has anyone else noticed that Josh Hamilton is a beast?

Well I've really not been optimistic since, well 09
People always scoff at me when I say sh*t like "its not really a team" but I'm always, sadly, proven right playoff time when all these superstars crash and burn :(

Pitching is indeed an issue, but still plenty of season to go.
CC will be our ace as always, unless he decide to get even fatter and lose his skill againAngry
I like Nova, hopefully Hughes will stay strong, who the hell knows with Pettitte.
I'm still out on Kuroda, doesn't seem too bad.

Still too early but I can have optimism for the pitching, we'll have either 2-5 good pitchersLOL Really I'm all about the post season and will the team actually step up or not.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm Josh Hamilton, I think I may have the heard the name once or twice. Just a guess

This is it MoM.
Andy's re-debut.

If we can get the Andy of his career, he can be a big boost for the rotation.

It probably depends on whether or not he got his injections or not.

oh man...cmon you gotta try harder than that.
You're just getting lazy now.

edit: Well pretty good game considering.
Did a great job with his pitch count and had great control, Pettitte was just very cautious...for the first outing can't complain though. We'll see how the season goes.

This reliever really blew the game though

If the Rangers stay healthy I really have no idea how any team could beat them in a 5 or 7 game series.  They are managing to make a rather dull game (let's be honest with ourselves here) quite fun to watch.  Haven't had this much fun watching baseball since Aaron Boone crushed Boston's soul in 03'.  Not that anything going on today could ever top that joyous night but since my beloved Yankees brought A-Rod on board, the year following Boone's blast, things just aren't that same.  I miss Bernie Williams, Paul O'Neill, and Mike Stanton.

Well I think we all doLOL
And trust me, even here in the core of Yankees land you'll be hard pressed to find anyone who truly likes A rod.
Especially in recent years where he's been a bigger waste of money than any government programWink
2007 sure does feel ages ago now...pretty much since then he's never been the same. He at least was a good player then.

Tonight there will be no aces.

Royals are on a win streak, swept the Rangers in a two game series. Shocked

We're 15-20 right now and considering we had a 12-game home losing streak I think the record looks pretty good. We'd be well over .500 without some of those silly losses.

They're still going to be in the playoff hunt and finish third in the division.

And since when was a healthy Beckett not reliable?

I already barked up that tree...notice he never even bothered to come back, just wanted to post his pessimism.
These Boston fans are just a depressing bunch I tell ya.

Still early JodyWink
But yeah, this has been a crazy start for the Os.

I hate the Yankees.  Now on to their 3rd option at closer, and he just happened to lead the league in saves 2 or 3 years ago.  Such an embarassment to the sport.  I hope that he falls flat on his face too.

Goodness, I get it but some of yall hate on the Yanks more than you like your team.
Also sorry, in this case I'm sincerely confused as to your anger. What is it this time exactly?Confused

As I've said a million times, you people need to give it up. What f**king good does all this money do??
The playoffs every year? Teams with smaller pay rolls have managed such. Yanks always choke anyway.
2 WS appearances and one win in the last 10 years. That's great but others have managed better with less money.

The top 3 payrolls all crashed last year, and the Orioles are kicking our divisions ass right now.
I know I know, and I usually let it go, but sometimes yall gotta STFU. LOL What good has this butt ton of money done for us? Not any better than teams with a tenth the payroll.....sheesh

What an ugly loss the Tigers had last night.  11 to 7 to the f**kin' Twinkies.  Another "worst" offense in baseball that kicked out pitcher's asses; yet again.  First the Mighty Mariners, and then Brandon "Hall of Famer" Inge and the ass-kicking A's, and now the f**kin' Twinkies.   This is so damn frustrating.

And I feel so bad for the poor little penny-pinching Tigers.  They certainly didn't spend any money putting together a fantasy team of infielders, or anything.

Trying to keep up with the Joneses kind of sucks.  Gotta love our 3-man 2nd baseman rotation, whose averages combined don't equal Robinson Cano. LOL
