I just got a 2 lp with booklet from the Who's Quadrophenia and I wonder if it's more popular here then Tommy.

More Rock Opera than concept albums really. Well Tommy certainly is, but as stated this poll has been done very recently.

Tommy for me.  Both are great albums but Tommy has the better songs IMO and some stunningly beautiful guitar work in Amazing Journey and Underture, which inspired Townshend's live magnum opus - My Generation on Live at Leeds.
 
I find Tommy more interesting than Quadrophenia, it has more variation in themes and style.  Daltrey in particular takes pretty much the same approach to every song on Quad.

I find the musicianship on Quadraphenia amazing!  Entwhistle did all brass parts, and Townsend the strings, along with their bass & guitar.  Very rare to find that much talent in a four-piece band!

I first bought Tommy and it was love at first listen. That may colour my opinion quite a bit, because I can recognise just how much Pete grew as a songwriter in these years, and from a compositional point of view, one could arguably state that Quadrophenia is the better album. 
Still, I voted Tommy.

Quadrophenia, easily.

Similarily to The Wall, Tommy without the scenes and special guests doesn't do it anymore for me.

Quadrophenia's movie, on the other hand, is much less music based, and can be seen as a movie detracted from the album per se.

Quadrophenia. Tommy was quite inventive at release time, but it was just a forestudy. The only Who album that is a match for Quadrophenia is Who's Next. 1971-73 was their best period.
