Well obviously it is.
I just find it amusing how he calls Brian's friend a racist but then says much of NYC is racist and more so than Pennsylvania.
That makes him sound racist as well.
So someone isn't allowed to call Pittsburgh a hell-hole and so therefore he's a racist?
That's stupid.
|
He said that based on total population and density that he would expect that NYC contains more racists than Western PA since racists exist everywhere. How's that being racist?

He's not being racist. He's being a pompous arse.
Besides, Brian's friend doesn't even sound like a racist so why is he calling him one in the first place? Calling someone a racist without any facts is stupid and makes him look stupid.
Why on earth are you defending him?

I'm defending logic. It's not anything besides common sense to assume a uniform density of racists and then deduce that NYC has more than western PA.

That's a different issue entirely. I'm talking about his original reply to Brian.

Did I talk about that anywhere. I didn't even read it. I didn't care until I saw you calling the quoted part racist.

Reading the posts, MoM seems to be acting pretty reasonably, especially by MoM standards. Bring up the Patriots if you want to see him actually act boorish.

How on earth is that reasonable?
Hmm.
Oh well.

I think the burden would be on you to show he's being unreasonable. Just seemed to me that he responded to Brian's friend's negative opinion of Western PA.

Right there. He's saying Brian's friend is calling people from Pennsylvania racist white trash. To me, that means MoM is basically saying that he thinks Brian's friend is a racist because he thinks he's calling them racist. Maybe not directly but the slur is there. Besides, he still called the guy a douchebag. Not a terrible insult but still one nevertheless.

I always thought it was like...the pot is black and the kettle is black, so one calling the other be hypocritical or something. Never thought there was racist subtext to it.

Or maybe you're just not understanding my point? Yes, I think it would be that. I've been civil up to now. I guess everyone else wants to stir the slurry and defend MoM's slurs at someone he's never actually met (Brian's friend). Meh, I'm done. You're all ganging up on me anyway.

Are you f**king kidding me? I never even called him a racist and, also, I just said that statistically speaking there are likely more racists in NYC based on the numbers (the population there is twice that of all of western PA, derp). So you are willing to go so far as completely misrepresenting something written in plain english in order to smear someone? His friend was painting everyone from western PA as racist and white trash, I got defensive (only place I'd say I was at fault), called his friend a douche, and pointed out that the numbers would support there being more racists in NYC based on population. So, it's now racist to defend oneself from being called a racist .

You're leaving out the likelihood that racists don't concentrate in NYC because it has too many people of color. Once again historical amnesia is a wonderful thing. As people of color concentrated in the cities there was white flight to suburbs and beyond.

lol wot? I'm sorry but I don't see how anybody with even the most tenuous grasp of the english language could draw that inference.
