Most music I listen to now, I've liked the first time of hearing it.  Even the perplexing stuff like some of those Keith Tippett albums and AMM's AMMMusic.

I remember not liking but being intrigued by Kayo Dot on the first listen. The album was Coyote.

There were/are a few bands that I liked most elements of on first listen but other elements have grown on me later, such as with Opeth and Agalloch.

I'm pretty sure Magma was instalove.

Bach wrote too many Cantatas. I got the complete Bach Edition thinking it would be full of stuff like the Brandenburg Concertos, but 60 discs are Cantatas.

To contrast, the Stravinsky box set I got has 22 discs, the Messian 18, the Mahler 16, and that leaves me with 4 discs to go.

Stravinsky wrote too much choral music.

I'm not really a huge fan of his choral work either. His ballets are definitely his best works.

Yep.  Definitely his ballets.

Les Noces in particular.  Of course though, his classics are Firebird and The Rite of Spring.

I swear someone just sang "Volkswagen" in this version of M.D.K. LOL

Firebird is awesome.

I might become a Bartok addict.

Bach wrote a crazy amount of music, and it's all so thorough and clinical.

Do you enjoy it? Are the lute suites included?

I must say, this is a fun version though.  There's laughing and good raucous singing on here.

Actually, I only really like their debut album.  After that they don't really do much for me.

To be honest I don't know what's all included, but it's supposed to be everything he composed (the box was 157 CDs + 2 DVDs + 1 DVD ROM including scores of Bach's complete works), so I imagine the Lute Suites are in it somewhere. I'm still in the process of ripping it, 64 discs in XD

I got Vivaldi at the same time and I've been enjoying his stuff a bit more.

Do you realize that you will die before you listen to all of it? LOL

A Livingroom Hush is the one I like.

The Stix and What We Must didn't do so much for me.  I haven't heard the most recent one.

I forgot that debut album existed actually.  I haven't heard that one.

I like it in small doses.  I like the glitch on Animal As Leader's debut for example.  Overdone though it sounds awful.
