I could use some classical music recommendations. Preferably modern classical.

I'm mostly enjoying late 19th century Austro-German romanticism. Bruckner is in my ears right now.

You should check out John Adam's violin concerto.

George Lewis's "Les Exercises Spirtuel" disc that he just released last year on Tzadik (the album in my sig with the triangle in it) was really excellent.
If you want to hear something way way different, I recommend trying out Scott Johnson. His 2010 disc, "Americans", also released on Tzadik, was also really great.
I think you probably heard this track in LR once, but just in case:

Any specific recordings?
Also, can you recommend me a recording of anything by John Cage? I've been meaning to check him out.

I think there is only one recording, with Gidon Kremer. I might be wrong though.

Conan O'Brien's personality seems fun.

I'm listening to that first Cage album now and it's pretty nice.
Thanks Big Al.

Don't be redundant.
I hope I have enough time to learn musical notation and compose my own music when I start living alone.

I'm terrible at nicknames, Marcosis. Marcoyote. Marcopulation. Marcohabitation.
I've almost completely forgotten how to read music, and I've definitely forgotten nearly all of my music theory knowledge. I really should write down my music but I'd rather just record it, but I have no mic.

That is perfect. You're probably good at conceiving band names too, right?

Not really.
Although when I start recording music I'll release them under the name Eigengrau.
