No strings attached for me, hope you all have a great day. Whatever you celebrate or even if not at all, still hope it's a nice day!

Well I celebrated it by spending lots of time with family, eating good food, and consuming a large amount of alcohol. So basically, I had a great time! :D

Yesterday when I was at the dentist's, they had CNN on and were actually talking about Ron Paul leading in Iowa. Of course, they were quick to mention that if he wins there, it will mean absolutely nothing in the overall scheme of things. Then they turned to talking about why Newt is such a bad human being for the rest of the segment. Because we didn't know that already.....

People are still mentioning Newt without laughing and rolling around on the floor in tears, so I think they need to talk about how terrible a person he all the more.

That's pretty cool actually.
The Ron Paul is racist stuff defies all common sense. The only people who seem to believe it are racist white republicans who are going to vote for someone like Newt. This is a sappy thing, but I thought its a nice little video for Ron. |

And here's where the author shows his hand. Nothing will ever "work" because people are imperfect. I don't hold a Libertarian ideology because it will "work;" I hold it because it is ethical. |

"We are greedy, envious, petty and selfish". One ideology recognizes this and tries to use this for the advantage of most people (or at least make all of them equally free to try). The other one tries to turn everybody in something they are not by the decree of a group of greedy, envious, petty and selfish powerful people.

Of course, this whole article is completely confused with conservatism (in America) and libertarianism. |

Do you even expect me to read that? I've read Rand. I don't need to hear someone's opinion of Rand who has never actually read Rand. EDIT: I did decide to read it. Is this an opinion piece written for a freshman composition class or is this website supposed to be reputable?
The author lacks even the basic ability to separate the actions of government from the actions of people, unable to separate the government comprised of a few hundred individuals who rule a geographical area, from the people, society, and culture of that geographical area. This straw man has been pointed out by laizze-fare liberals throughout history, yet it continues to be used by the power hungry to justify actions. Wish you all the best in 2012!
You gon need it....because if the past year(s) have been an example the government will be coming on harder than ever! o I made myself sad Not to sound like a crazed libertarian but with so many recent actions, including another habeaus corpus disregard and most recent attempt at censoring the internet...I'm starting to wonder if the Age of Tyranny is truly upon us. It was Freedom House that noticed (in however they determine their rankings) that much of the world took a slide in Freedom these recent years, including Western Europe where I believe Italy lost its fully "free" status! While it should not do so....guess economic crisis gives the government authority to impose upon our personal freedoms. I know I know you cant draw lines in freedom especially about "personal" and "economic" and etc but too bad |

Aw Teo beat me to it.
Ah well. Happy New Year! http://www.aclu.org/national-security/president-obama-signs-indefinite-detention-bill-law I really think Bama is trying to take Wubya's place as greatest American troll. He's done a 180 on pretty much everything he ever said, has had zero push on anything and has failed to be anything like us true liberals had expected. The only hope left may honestly be Paul and I still don't really like some sh*t about him. Maybe this is truly the time to stop caring about politics Seriously, is Bama f**kin trolling us? I can let healthcare go because that was quite out of his hands (though even there he could've pushed more AND that POS bill was nothing like what I hoped) but god damn I used to at least think "Well Obama sucks but at least he's a fine guy" but it seems obvious he is like all the rest. Talked a big game and I fell for it like others. He wants nothing different than the others Edited by JJLehto - January 01 2012 at 18:29 |

The big ProgArchives question:
Will Slarti still blindly vote for W's 4th term?
