I'm not too surprised, when I first heard the name he was endlessly talked about as being so great, he was the next big sh*t.
Now he could very well be, just saying I'm not surprised he was given the chance, he seemed really wanted in F1.
I was more shocked Senna never really got a chance, until so recently.

And Senna maybe out again, of course.  No drive for next season as of yet.

It's mind boggling. Obviously teams have a much better and intensive look than we do...maybe he just doesn't have it.
The name doesn't equate to automatic greatness, but just can't believe how little chance he's had.

Though we've seen how well Piquet Jr was treated so I guess name loyalty means diddly these days!

Piquet, Jr. deserved to be treated like sh*t though.

Hulkenberg hopefully will return, as rumoured.  I'd like to see him do well.

How!?

Well I hate asking you because I'm sure somehow you will just say it's because of AlonsoLOL some sh*t like he was breathing the same air as Alonso.....but seriously, I felt bad for that guy.
Pretty much from day one I heard "he's on the hot seat" and by halfway through the season Flav was saying he wanted to see improvement, which I did see improvement over the year.
He seemed to have absolutely NO chance, even though Renault wasn't that good (look how poor Grosjean did).
I know Grosjean was a real hot, young driver and Renault is French....I think Piquet was just a seat filler for Romain.

I'd be pissed in his situation and glad he got Flav back.

We all know orders and little tricks go on in racing, but having Piquet crash is just dangerous and Flav's comments about wanting the sport to be entertaining irk me. If given the power he would take the NASCAR route and crash the sport just  for the $$$   I dont like him kLOL

Flavio Briatore is an idiot and it's good he's not in F1 any more. Wink

You don't crash a car deliberately into a wall as per team orders.  It was silly of him to do so.

Well yeah....of course he is and it's good, that's what I was saying you silly gooseLOL
Oh please James, of course you do. Right or wrong like it or not, what are you gunna do?
He could've stood his ground and said no and..... just get canned from his ride even quickerLOL
Or that USGP debacle, a driver could've just gone out and done it but it's something you see in all sports man, you don't go against the team.

Hami would've done the exact same thing, as would any other driver.

Besides, you still cant deny Piquet was treated like crap BEFORE the crash thing. It's disrespectful to him as a driver and son of a legend, what a lack of class Flav had. If he wasn't such a dick, the beans would've not been spilled!

Hamilton may not have.  Not everyone is the same.

People would have more respect for Piquet, Jr. if he'd grown a pair.  Massa also needs to do the same and stop team orders making him let Alonso pass him. Wink

Plus I'd say the Caterham lineup should remain the same now that Ricciardo has joined Toro Rosso.  I still think Kovaleinen should have a better drive but having said that, I think Caterham are going places.  I expect them to be much more mid-table this coming season.

Just a hunch, of course.

Kovaeinan has said he'll only consider leaving if a race winning team offers him a place. Considering that Caterham look like they'll make some big gaines in the next few years (they have a design team filled with ex Ferrari, McLaren, Red Bull and Renault members) I cant blaim him.

Vergne is the 2010 British F3 champion (strongest F3 series in the world these days) and runner up in this years Renault 3.5 series (lost out to Canadian Robert Wickens, who has been around that level in A1GP, Renault 3.5 and GP2 for about 5 years now), did a few Friday practice sessions for STR at the end of the year and was Red Bulls driver for the Abu Dhabi test after the race there this year. As far as I know, both Buemi and Algersuari are still Red Bull drivers, but neither is considered good enough to replace Webber for 2013 and so ar just taking up space. HRT are said to be trying to make themselves the Spanish national team so I think theres a good chance we could see Algersuari there.

I've got to say I'm with James on this one, Piquet let Flav get to him early on and so we saw little improvement during his time in F1 after about the half way point of his first season. Crashing the car was just plain stupid, with the way Flav was running things he should have known that he was likely to get the boot pretty quick anyway, and putting yourself and other drivers in such danger is out  of line even if he did think it would save his job, and I really cant see any other driver doing that.

Well McLaren (seemingly) doesn't play such games so he's lucky there but we see it in all sports, of course you are going to follow the team.

LOL I dont even wanna answer you because I know you're being a poor troll again but seriously...grow a pair? WTF did he do? You really do make no sense are you talking about he should've had some and not follow orders? What about everything before? I think he was majorly disrespected (before the crash) and even if he shouldnt have crashed the car on order, which I'd agree, you are applying that to BEFORE the crash.
He was still disrespected before hand .

W/e James you are nothing but a troll ever so guess you've got me again

I thought he did improve over the season...idk just seems like BS all around. What a railjob he got,

Yes, I am saying he shouldn't have followed those particular orders.  Like Andy also says, very few other drivers would have done that.  It's a dangerous manoeuvre and someone could have got hurt.

I agree though, he was majorly disrespected beforehand as well.  He should have spoken out about it or quit.  I cannot see his father ever having done anything like he did.

I'm sorry but I cannot respect someone for taking a team order to drive into a wall.

Why aren't you calling Andy a troll, by the way? WinkLOL

That's a pretty good lineup.  I'd like to have seen an all German team though.

I do like Di Resta though.  So it's a tough call for me.

I think the reasoning is that Sutil is as good as he's going to get, whilst Di Resta and The Incredible Hulk have space for improvement but are already close to or at his level. There's no mistaking that FI are an ambitious team.

Bad news guys.

Kubica has broken his leg at his home after slipping on ice.

I'm not sure how long he'll be out for though but it'll certainly delay his return.

Oh god. Ouch

Poor Kuby...can't catch a break. (Unless it's of his body...) I hope he heals up quickly. I would like to see him in a ride again soon.
