BRUGNOLINI SANDRO (1970) : OVERGROUND.

Nice instrumental album from the early seventies. A kind of mix between psyché and library music. Easy to find in CD.

I was just listening to some RPI on YouTube, and it´s amazing what one finds some times:

Il Punto?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RW5RdyLGIJQ
Sbranco e le purghe elletriche?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpEo2amnJU4&feature=related

I have made a habit out of putting on some RPI in the mornings. I guess some titles are more appropriate than others, but my current fave to greet the day hello to is Era di Acquario - Antologia. Folk heaven with lots of acoustic guitars and flute work, that corresponds so well with the day starting, and man those players have got some fabulous chops!
Such a nice way of waking up, and getting out of bed. I recommend it wholeheartedlyThumbs Up

I 've never tried until now to buy a book or to collect hundreds of informations. I think i'm afraid to muddle my mind with too many words. I miss already time to listen to my RPI albums. Later, for sure. Smile

SOME EXAMPLES OF BEATLES LEGACY IN RPI. Wink

LE ORME : BUONA NOTTE. (Mc Cartney's Fool on the hill ! )

REALE ACCADEMIA DI MUSICA : OGNUNO SA (Pure Ringo Starr melody with a touch of Lennon and Harrison)

BANCO DEL MUTUO SOCCORSO : NON MI ROMPETE (Earlier I was playing Blackbird of the White Album on my guitar. Banco uses the same chords in the beginning. The rythm, of course, is different.

1977. Aliscioni Alessandro : il revoluzionario. Heart

I deeply agree with Matts on his site. This album is a gem. Hope someone of the Den will love it as much as me to write a review.

Listening to GARAMOND right now. They are listed under Rio/Avant but hey they are Italian. The female singer reminds me of Stratos from AREA only because she seems to have no inhibitions when she sings, and talk about theatrical.Yes she can sing straight-up too but this is very adventerous music.

We'll check it out my avian friend.  If you know of any sites where we can hear the other 5 songs that Mat doesn't have , please let me know.  That would help.

Thanks Jim. You're right, RPI is contagious. I've already tried to find the whole album, but no results for the moment. Maybe Mats could help ? He's in relation with the composer. Keep searching.

Oh how I love these guys! Ever since Jim posted that live bit from the studio, AREA have been on my YouTube list.
If you guys are into Italian yodelling, then by all means try some of this - Stratos is surely out of his mind on this specific takeLOL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAr1tI_-gp8&feature=related

Oh, and the whole thing comes off as some kind of television performance! I have a hard time believing that this stuff got airplay back then... So cool thoughCool

OSANNA LIVE 1973.

Excellent, but the singer carries a coat in duck feathers. This world is so cruel. Broken Heart

TONI ESPOSITO. ROSSO NAPOLETANO. (1974)

A strange and fascinating album. Nothing to compare with, in RPI.
I love the Java Gamelan in the second song. (Vinyl and CD)

IVAN GRAZIANI is the singer and guitarist who started to work with PFM on Chocolate Kings. He left for a solo career before the album was completed and Bernardo Lanzetti stepped in. His album Ballata per quattro stagioni could be of some interest for prog lovers...

MONTI MAURIZIO : DIAVOLO CUSTODE (1976). (RCA Vinyl only)

Terrific front cover between Tim Burton and Oscar Wilde. The music and the arrangements are very personal. You can hear on the site samples of his first romantic album too. A new voice, in my opinion, in RPI.

Listening to NODO GORDIANO's "Flektogon" and man talk about a dark and heavy album. The female soprano vocals on the opening track are interesting too. This music is right up my alley but really has nothing to do with RPI as Torodd mentions in his review.Hey they're Italian and they kick some serious butt so i'm just glad i own this.
