Both my boys (now 16 and 12) have been listening to 70s Prog and Genesis since, as my oldest son just said, birth.

My oldest just said, that the Gabriel years are the best

Teenagers and enjoy are mutually exclusive paradigms.

Ok I've had enough of you I have a right to post on a thread as much as you do so flip off

The point isn't that you or any other individual doesn't have the "right" to post in this or any other thread, just that it's exasperating to see people bumping a thread which is not only more than a year old but also based on a completely ridiculous premise. It's a debate that never needed to happen, yet one year later people are still seemingly intent on having it. It's baffling.

Edit: Never mind, Henry beat me to it.

As a kid, I listened to the music of my older brothers, who were into Genesis, Yes etc. and I liked it a lot.

I hope she can enjoy this type of music as I have heaps to give her if so. Also I can talk to her about it and its important to have an interest with your teen daughters and sons.

My question is then is it possible for teens to enjoy this type of early prog rather than the stuff on the radio that is churned out? I hope so, as then we would have a common interest. Interesting thought....
If she thought it annoyed you, she'd be into it like a fish into water.  Annoying my parents is what led me to Pink Floyd.

Can old people appreciate Nate Dog or Slipknot seems to be the the real question.

Yes. I started properly listening to early genesis when I was about 13 and was familiar with some of their songs, The Return Of The Giant Hogweed for instance, well before that.

I'm 17 and I listen to progressive rock. :P selling England by the pound is one of my favorite albums too.

The music on the radio these days is 95% ....well...not good. Haha.

I enjoyed early Genesis when I was a teen. But now that I'm an adult, I can't stand Genesis.
