Hello all you progfans.

I'm writing to share some new music out of Australia that I think a lot of you could relate to.

I'm speaking of Perth's prog-rock, post-metal, jazz noise, soundscape artists by the name of "Tangled Thoughts of Leaving."

Last night I saw them launch their epic debut album @ a great little venue called the Bakery to an amazing response.
Anyway, I'm going to stop babbling and give you some links.

It would be great to hear/read what you all think of this.

Wow, how did you manage to embed the bandcamp player?

Also, I saw the album was added already to the bandpage, so I went on bandcamp and listened to the first track (the epic 17 minutes composition). That was splendid! I'll give the whole album a whole listen soon. But judging by the first track I can safely hope it is one of the best progressive albums of 2011.

Haha, I was quite suprised at that myself.

I simply copied and pasted it from the bandcamp page, who would have thought it would actually work.

I've listened to this a fair few times now and I'm still hearing new things. Loving it.
But the real magic is to hear it live.
Should hopefully have some footage from their launch last night surface soon.

Enjoy. :)

Listened to the whole album on their website this morning.  Quite wonderful!
Is their site the only place to get the CD?  Looks like it's 20AUD, which is about 21.25USD.  Pretty expensive for a single CD from a new band...!

It's not a single, its an album. 62ish mins long and it is actually their 3rd release just their 1st full length.

I think there are other online retailers you can buy it from, like waterfront records among others but you may as well get it direct from them, it's no different, if anything you'll probably get some stickers and crap thrown in with it too.

It's available in all cd stores in Aus, not sure about the rest of the world as I don't live there. :P

Some footage from thier launch. Peaks a bit as it is just the cameras mic and it was mighty loud on stage.

Easily the most exciting Australian band I've heard in a while. Have they ever played in Canberra? I hope they have/do some time.

They are yet to venture beyond WA, however they have a national tour coming up in September.
Unfortunately Canberra is not on the list.

I reviewed their EP prior to this and really enjoyed it. I'll have to check out the full CD.
You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.
