I've really been wanting sushi lately. There has been a new sushi bar being built about twenty minutes from my home, and I've been waiting very patiently for that sh*t to open so I can chow down. It's taking forever.

I liked it a lot too, although he was unbearably heavy-handed with the existentialism at times. And the rational part of me couldn't stop trying to poke holes in how they managed to survive.

It's hard to understand how Gulbis and Pennetta are on such a low right now, after being two of the most promising tennis players two years ago. They both lost their first round today.

Has Murray failed dismally yet, Rico?

He's got the easiest draw, he should make quarters easily. Depends when he meets Almagro or Melzer - and if they're in form, actually, something rather doubtful.

I know he could meet Rafa in the Semis.
He just seems to choke in supposedly easy games.
Although that recent Masters semi where he could have beaten Djoko is a good sign. Rafa was beaten in straight sets (well, in the best of 3 format anyhow) in the final, as you know.
Hmm.

So wow, cosmogony and eschatology shared the Palme d'Or's this year.

It would be weird living somewhere where they build sushi bars.

He's becoming another Henman (although he's much better than him) and is likely to never win a Slam.

He's definitely not expected to win, so maybe that's different than previous times, even for his attitude in the game. Djoko clearly bested Nadal all year long, and especially on clay. Hopefully their final here is already in the books.

One of my main issues with Murray is his serve. He never seems to get enough first-serves in and his second-serve isn't very good.

You keep saying that for the last three years and I always never really notice that in particular. ![LOL LOL](smileys/smiley36.gif) It's usually him being too defensive or blocking himself in that state, when it's clearly not working.

Djokovic hasn't lost all season, has he?
And what's happened to Federer? I've not been following the tennis that much. Surely he hasn't suddenly become average?

Plus with Murray he sometimes missh*ts really easy shots, especially volleys. I know everyone does that but he does it more than most.
The highlights are on at 23:00 so I'll watch them.

It's weird for a sushi bar to be built here, but I'm excited nevertheless. Currently, the closest sushi bar is about an hour away, and it's super snooty and expensive.

Nope, he's going for McEnroe's '83 (or '84?) 42-0 start of the season. Although it's already more impressive than his (McEnroe won a lot of second-class tournaments then, from what I've seen). Ironically, McEnroe's streak ended at the French final, after leading Lendl two sets. Maybe that will happen with Djokovic too, with Nadal resurrecting. Ah, yes, Federer. Well, he lost only to Nole (three times) the first part of the season, afterwards getting beaten twice by Nadal as well. He had a shot at downing Nadal on clay in Madrid, but he lost that match on his own. He was also beaten early by other players. The loss with Gasquet was particularly irritating. Fed did nothing on court, except push the match to tiebreaks and losing them - but afterwards he came out as the smug he is and said "I should have won that match". ORLY

But there's no point to it, really. There's only football (which I loathe) and motorsports. Nobody cares enough about tennis, so I'd only do multiple posting in the official thread. I am expecting a bark or sigh from him, yes. But he probably logged off, now that it's tennis talk.
