After the violin week, the only theme this coming Thursday night is a catch up
on promos received and a heap of purchases made in the last few weeks. So thanks
to Moonjune Records, for supplying me with more of the Italian successor (?) to
Bobby Ferrin and a PMG rhythm section in different company. Jens Johansson
demonstrating his keyboard mastery on a couple from Mastermind's back catalogue.
And within the week of its release, former drummer with EST, Magnus Ostrom's
album Thread of Life gets sampled. The no-prize quiz: spot the connection
between two unlikely tunes. BTW spot too, the former Shell Chemicals executive.

I got this Magnus Ostrom debut as well, more related with EST music, than their ex-bassist solo release

Hi Dick,

I feel sure someone's already asked this, but there are 116 pages here!  Are you interested/happy to accept music submissions?  I have a CD coming out at the end of the month - please let me know if you'd like me to send a copy and, if so, what is your address.  If you want to check out my music first, the website address is below.

Cheers - Al

Still have ice and snow in places, lakes are under ice, but during daytime temperature is positive and there are lot of sunny days, so spring is not too far

Tonbruken was more rock oriented album (not much jazz at all), Magnus Ostrom's debut is closer to ESP music, nu jazz on the edge with new age I would say

Joe Morello was one of my musical heroes, so a tribute in the obvious form of Take 5

Good evening - hint taken but  finding time has been an issue since November and more importantly remembering how I managed changing my signature here  last time

Aarset played on Molvaers some albums, but his solo works are much more electronic/ambient. I saw him solo playing live last autumn there on Vilnius jazz fest last autumn

I've had this album flagged up in my Amazon wish-list for 18 months, but only recently scrolling through I reminded myself to buy it. Less ambient nu fusion than Molvaer. I also forget what other Aarset album I bought 3 years ago,but it wasn' t compelling enough for me to rush and buy more quickly. This  one does work however.
