You have to love albums which have mean scores that do not represent a single actual rating.

Strange things are afoot on the internet or with my computer today.  Not sure which.  Anyhow, I have posted my top 10 albums for 2010 in the Collab Zone in case anyone is interested.  It isn't written in stone yet, as I will try to listen to as many albums as I can between now and then and see how much I shake it up.

Wow, Periphery are in really bad shape for their European tour.  Spencer has bronchitis that has progressed to the point where he can't sing (I guess some people would be happy about that but I'm not), Jake Bowen broke a finger so the guitarist for the band they're touring with has to play some of his parts, and Matt f*cked up his foot somehow and is on lots of painkillers but might not be able to continue for much longer.

They haven't cancelled any shows though.  Hope they get better in time for their tour here.

It'd kind of suck for them to get all the way to Europe and then just cancel a whole string of shows, not to mention it'd be a big letdown for their fans.

Well, I meant it as a good thing.

LOL

Peter Forsberg - probably more machine than man after all the operations and ten thousand comebacks - ah, well, it has come to an end now.

Oh, well yeah it is a good thing, but sometimes these people need to learn their limits.

In 2007 Mastodon toured extensively while Brent Hinds had laryngitis and he permanently scarred his vocal chords and can't do those insane growls he used to be able to do. Unhappy

Being that he played for the hated Colorado Avalance, I never cared for Forsberg all that much.  As a matter of fact, I had a pretty strong dislike of the guy, but grudgingly I must say that he was a great player, and it is a shame that he isn't going out on his own terms.  I have a feeling it isn't the last that we will see of him, if he can help it, but it sounds as though his body isn't helping him too much.

I just thought that that might be why Crack The Skye is a pretty good album...but I was going to keep it to myself.

Hehe.

Actually even on the title track for Crack the Skye, the only one with growled vocals, I'm almost positive it's not actually him trying to growl.  I think it's Scott Kelly from Neurosis on the recording.
