No, it's true, Family Guy is a terrible, terrible show. It's gotten even worse since it came back from cancelation.
I lost points from my final grade for being late to class today. And she kept us 15 minutes over when it's a worthless class. Lame.
I would flip sh*t. Being in class is completely irrelevant to you understanding material, which is the supposed goal of a course. Participation grades are built in curves to allow the morons a chance to pass by showing up and sleeping, and to punish the intelligent students by making them sit through wave after wave of inane sh*t coming from the professors mouth when their time could be better spent out of class actually learning rather than listening to some half-witted professor teach monkeys how to read and write while doing their best to indoctrinate their students with subjective value judgments.
Yeah, it's 1 credit "College Success Skills" that's required for all degrees, so it's 100% a waste of time. But it was only 5 points out of a 1000, I really don't give a sh*t.
Pat, do you use Webassign at your school? We do for my Physics class and it's infuriating. Someone was even complaining that they they use it for their Calculus class, which is missing the point so much, I think. It appears, however, that might be the norm for this system because the bookstore says to get webassign for the other campuses, although that doesn't mean the instructor will actually use it (or, in one case, McGraw-Hill's "Mathzone", which I'm sure is even more fail).
The guy across from me in the computer lab is listening to SOAD really loud. I'm leaving though so I'll let him piss everybody off until somebody is willing to say something.

The schools I teach at use it very prominently for Physics, Math (including Calc and Diff Eq), etc.. I do not use it when I teach.
The schools I have gone to did not use it, because it's completely inappropriate. It's for lazy teachers who don't want to make their own problems or bother grading their homework.
