They rock in my ears...... at least on this album. I though RIO missed that element emphatic rock rhythms

As much as I hear nowadays, quirky rock-based music with elements of urban folklore, chamber music, etc is tagged as RIO. Possibly it's more about atmosphere than pure sound though.

Becker sounded excellent on previous song.I 've been too often disappointed with his mellow/sweet playing for years

I tend to think of  Henry Cow, a couple of Robert Wyatts albums - e.g. end of an ear , several of Hugh Hopper's and probably 95% of the ReR catalogue, 30% of Cuneiform Records catalogue. Otherwise there is a tendency to use 'RIO' as a dumping ground for unclassifiable music. Where would you place Moondog (who I caught on a Coen brothers DVD the other night on the soundtrack.)?

Lots of space for LB  in Jazzwise magazine I got today - including being on the front cover of the magazine. Apparently more rock heavy than previous albums.... But still  have to go to Cuneiform & beg a copy

This album is on sales around Europe from this week everywhere. I don't know why in UK they will start selling it only in February, possibly marketing strategy.

BS&T sounded nice at very beginning of their career (I prefer Chicago from brass-rock bands, few early albums as well)

That's my worry. Alas not appreciated by the the students who manage this station, and only do it for 1 year only. I'm the only continuity here......
