This may have been discussed before but I cannot find it on the Search function.  Apologies if it has

Has John Frusciante ever been considered for inclusion in the website?

His music is very proggy - and he is certainly well involved with Prog with his work with the Mars Volta, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Ataxia.  I've seen articles written by him in the front of music magazines with specific Prog rock issues.

I have a few of his albums but haven't played them recently, except DC-EP which is a real personal favorite of mine.  Smile

Not your comments Dean....sigh. No matter who is proposed for eval they should be given due process. You with a legal like mind would understand that....no wtf comment necessarySmile?

It's like when Stevie Wonder was proposed......due process no matter how ludicrous the main shareholders like Hughues thinks it is.......Cool

If JF is not worthy then a genre team need to eval and decline but not IMO without due process. Sh@t I sound like a lawyer now......

AFAIK, he was already evaluated. If i'm not mistaken, Kotro already suggested him and he was rejected.

^ That's more or less what I assumed the multitude of previous threads implied - not that I read any of them.

Obviously, the original poster wanted to redraw attention to this topic, so he could have either bumped an extremely old thread or started a new one (he obviously chose the second option). He would have gotten sh*t too if he would have chosen to bump a thread. The point is: give people a break! It's hard to keep track of what went on in the forum two years ago.

Anyways, I've never listened to any of John's solo albums, but I've heard many good things. I'm particularly interested in the wake of his collaborations with TMV/Omar.

Will you get off by frigging back for pitty sake Angry - I wasn't making fun of Ed for suggesting Frusciante, or for starting a new thread when a simple two minute search found several, nor did I dismiss the possibility of evaluating Frusciante again or anew (if for a different subgenre), or reject the idea as being ridiculous. I just pointed out that Ed had already suggested him himself, which he must have forgotten - I don't know about everyone else, but I found that amusing that's all. You guys need ot lighten-up and stop jumping to the assumption that every repeat suggestion around here is met with derision, when we point to earlier threads of the same suggestion it is in the hope that anyone who is intereseted would read those threads before posting their opinions in the new thread.Dead

Anyway..it is not AT ALL obvious that he wanted to redraw attention to this topic. Unless you have some reading ability that I don't posses.

Dean...you have my sympathy.

LOL He he he - you guys are funny - Dean,  Idlero etc... You made me giggle.  yeh - it's clear that I am beginning to get Alzeimer's (see- i can't spell it).  Yes, I had totally forgotten, but then again I haven't contributed anything for months (my life wanders) and I wanted to show I was still alive.

I'll let you all into a little secret so you don't have to electronically kill eachother anymore (though it's funny- and thankyou to those who stick up for me!).  It was my 9 year old son who asked and is rather disappointed that he is not included (how could you dash a little boy's hopes!!!Cry).  He loves his rock, and a lot of it is prog (how many 9 year olds are like that!?) - using his words ('cos he well knows about prog - hmmm, I wonder where he got that from??) "the most proggy album out of the ones I've heard is the Empyrean".

PS - I love the dog training DVD tear up Finnforest - that's so like what my dog would do.

PPS - Anyone know of any dogs who like prog?  Mine never says he does he never says he doesn't.
