I don't know. My imagination is running wild with this lately. It feels dangerous to me. Or maybe, I feel shocked by the news cast itself. I can't put my finger on it but, for some unknown reason or gut feeling, it disturbs me.

Don't take this offensively, because it's not meant to be, but I find your reaction to this very disturbing.
It's the Glenn Beck Show! starring that star of stars, the one and only....Glenn Beck! A very contemptuous little intellect that gives YOU..the viewer, ....the assurance that the God Julian Assange is worshipped highly in this country because the majority of our American social system is based on communism. Very nice.

I think Glenn is disturbed.

I am officially done defending Glenn Beck because of this Wikileaks incident. I would begrudgingly do so in the past, but the fact that he parades as a libertarian, but has called for Assange's execution for "crimes against the state"(lol) is making me sick.

Looks like the Swedes have issued another arrest warrent for Assange, for sexual assault. I guess they have to get him off the streets somehow and safely locked up, where he could do no more harm. If his next stop was the banks, then that is serious. I mean really serious. Attacking Wall Street is an attack on the puppet masters, and that can not be tolerated.

Maybe he is a screaming pervert, but I'd bet a reasonable sum of money that he isn't, but it's a damn good way to assassinate his character. No one likes a pervert, regardless of their politcal inclinations. I guess we'll never know if he is or isn't. We just have to trust the authorities...enough said.

Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin are asking for Assange's balls to be hanged....

There go two of the heroes of liberty...

I'm more of a libertarian than they are... At least I'm 100% (ok, maybe 95%, you'll find something Tongue) with personal freedoms. It's taxes and economic stuff where I tend to lean left...

The former loves government and the latter loves the status quo. No big surprise there.

I don't know if it is technically treason is it? Don't you have to actively defect or work directly for another country to be convicted of treason? If anything at all this could only indirectly and tangently harm the United States' reputation.

Treason:

1.
the offense of acting to overthrow one's government or to harm or kill its sovereign.
2.
a violation of allegiance to one's sovereign or to one's state.
3.
the betrayal of a trust or confidence; breach of faith; treachery.

Being a member of the military, downloading top secret classified documents and leaking them to anybody would be number 3 on that list.

The last guy that did this is looking at 50 years at hard labor in a military prison. They're lucky, years ago it would have been life or execution(deservedly so,imo).
That last definition is in the dictionary for common usage but is not the legal one. Not even Manning is being charged with treason and he leaked war documents. If you support the execution of Manning, or for whomever leaked the cables, then you terrify me.

As for their release, diplomats do need to do things that would be embarrassing if the public knew about them, so I'm not sure about these documents. However, one thing people seem to be overlooking is that, as I understand it, these documents were accessible by a large number of people, which is how so many of them were able to be leaked, so they were probably already significantly self-censoring.

No. But I'm sick and tired of reading posts written by 2010 degenerates who  hate their own country. Get it? I'm sick of their stupied and insulting threads on bands who are completely worthless like YES and Genesis. It's like sticking your face in a garbage can. But of course.....that makes a person mentally ill right?LOL Why? What do people from your planet do? Worship Paul Green and Jon Anderson? Pledge to Prog.Ears? Respect Glenn Beck or Juilan Assange? What does a person have to do on here? Go with your flow? Follow your rules? I thought this was Prog Archives not Prog ears?

1. Wikileaks wouldn't have to exist if journalists did their damn jobs. Instead they just fawn over our political leaders and unquestionably support their decisions, including the Iraq War. Funny that the top whiners over Wikileaks are the journalists.

2. If anyone dies because of Wikileaks dumps, please let me know.

I, for one, love my country. You do tend to post long, seemingly irrelevant rants that no one can understand, though. For example, the one above barely makes sense. It starts out okay, but then wanders over into crazy town. I don't blame Henry for wondering.

I will explain it.

It's the Glenn Beck show! blah blah....

Explanation: I am just being sarcastic.

A very contemptuous little intellect that gives YOU, the viewer ,,,,the assurance that the God Julian Assange is worshipped highly in this country because the majority of our American social system is based on communism. Very nice.

Explanation: His attitude is very contemptuous. He is snooty, insulting to those around him, disclainful and sneering. He makes statements regarding an abundance of American citizens who (in his words), worship Julian Assange. Americans who hate our goverment, worry about where all the money goes, have no respect for the FBI (even though they have been protecting us from terror acts), ....just a large percentage of people who are anti-pro American in general. Some of these anti-Americans feel that the terrorists busts are set up so the FBI will impress everyone. Beck looks a journalist or talk show host in the eye making it seem like justice. He defends Americans who feel this way. He tries to justify it some way and he is a snoty little creep about it. He has said in the past that America's social system is based on communism and that we who are patriotic should open our eyes to see we are out numbered. I've been following this wikileaks case for days and some people feel that the rape charge and molestation accusations of Assange are a direct revenge attack to paint him bad to the public at large.

There are all kinds of ridiculous statements coming from this side of the fence. The liberal's are loving this guy to death. There are  Hollywood debates on the talk shows. Where it all becomes about the debate over Assange which include the most ridiculous accusations about our goverment. The whole story has turned into a circus. I have friends who are journalists and I do know the sensational ropes. After the third day of news broadcasts, the story is difficult to stomach. If anything, ....Assange's entire caper is a dreadful and dis-respectful embarrassment to the U.S.

lol oops not THAT open and transparent!

"Open and transparent government with regards to the few things which the Presidents decides the stupid public should be allowed to know is something the President believes is truly important. "

Wikilieaks next target is supposedly a big U.S. bank.

Bring down the banksters.

That is what they claimed.
Going on about how it will be huge, which it will probably will be.

And there was that claim that next year they will release this unimaginably massive, earth shattering leak.
I can only make wild guesses at what could be so huge, and imagine if wikileaks is right about it...
Maybe the world is ending in 2012, and it'll be their doing! LOL

Soooo freedom of information = good

If it causes a massive bank to fail and has negative economic impact due to it...was it worth it?

What information could bring down a bank, unless that bank was engaging in extremely illegal practices? If that is the case, then let them fall, I say.

How can you say that it was not? If it does cause the bank to fail, then obviously it's evidence that the bank was engaging in extremely unethical/illegal behavior and we are better off without them. I don't know what's in them, but if an honest assessment of your business practices makes the public completely abandon you, then you should have stopped being in business a long time ago. Their corruption is a drain on the system that must be purged as soon as possible.

Anyway, in case you haven't heard, the "sex crimes" Julian Assange is wanted for is actually completely retarded and not a crime at all except in Sweden. But it's nice that the media keeps reporting it straight-faced as rape. So while he may be an egotistical ass, at least he's not a rapist.

And I don't know if you realized, but I just went to Wikileaks and apparently they've only released 683 of the 250,000 cables, I guess he wants to be the center of attention for the next 6 months, I don't know if I can bear the internet continuing to talk about it for that long.
