Its funny I remember reading something about how its no surprise that more people today are open to libertarianism due to the internet.

The very nature of the internet is libertarian so our generation that has grown up with it, the notion is like ingrained in us. Something like that.

It's an intriguing point though obviously there's much more to it than that.

INB4 the libertarians make some point about how this is wrong while still saying basically what I just did LOL

Personally, I find it amazing that a country like North Korea can commit an act of war against its neighbor, and all that happens is a bunch of meetings and impotent bluster. World War I was fought over less. Half a century ago, they would been reduced to a smoldering pile of ash for such an attack. But in this modern world of tolerance and compassion, no one has the belly for a good fight anymore, and so we're just going to keep letting bullies bully. I don't want the U.S. to get involved, but if I were a South Korean I'd be pretty damn bloodthirsty about it.

And thank God that's the case. The overwhelming majority of casualties in war are innocent of any politics or the causes of the conflict.

I'm more concerned with the government's war on the internet than anything in Korea.  Might just be me but I find the US government a greater threat to my liberty right now than the North Korean government.

So much for using torrents for downloading Linux distributions.

Wow. Just wow.

It's nice to see that the private sector seems to be giving her plenty of public humiliation. I'm a big believer in social pressure as a motivational tool.

Social ostracizing is much more effective than legal punishment.

If she personally goes there and plants her flag on it I'll recognize her ownership.

I agree, but I will not pay to look at because I believe I have homesteaded the use of the lights rays long before she gets to the surface and plants her flag.

Billing people is easy - collecting is another matter.

Maybe she could threaten to shut down the stellar fusion reaction if we don't pay up.

Unfortunately, she'd probably make a fortune just because a lot of people buy into intimidation (or are just stupid).

I really need to stop reading the comments on articles featured on Yahoo.  It just reminds me what a bunch of loud-mouthed ignoramuses populate this country.  So depressing. Thumbs Down

Some of them can be funny (because they're so terrible), but yeah in most cases they're just awful.  That goes for pretty much any comment section of any article on the internet.

Mother Nature is pulling a Mr. Burns on us today, apparently.  Unhappy
