That reminds me, how long did Bryan and Jon meet up for?  Also, what did you guys do and how did you get on?

Last year we met up and talked prog and ate Chinese food.  This year, we met up, talked prog, went to the music store and played instruments, and ate Chinese food.

Hold on: I didn't know you'd met last year too? Shocked

Hmm.

I consider some of you guys my best friends.  I'm not coming out to see you any time soon though.  You have to come to me. LOL

You pay, I'll go. Tongue

He speaks my thoughts. Tongue  Though I would like to get over to the UK next summer sometime, I think it'd be awesome.

I was watching a programme on television earlier about some Poms wanting to move to Auckland.  It looked lovely.

Their daughter doesn't want to move there though.  She wants to stay in the UK.  I don't blame her, really.  Her parents are living a dream and a lie, to be honest.

Not that I wouldn't mind emigrating one day but only if there's no family involved.

Which reminds me, can you remind me to remind myself to remind me about the Yoshi gig later in the year?

Oh, the Japavant thing can stay better buried than you'd think. Tongue  I generally only talk about my musical obsessions with people I know won't run away at the first notes of Magma/Cardiacs/Koenjihyakkei. LOL

I think you're overlooking you're prolific Facebook status updates about bands no female has ever heard. Big smile

Hey now, June has heard of most of the groups I talk about in my status updates.  But yeah, that's one thing I do need to work on. Embarrassed

I've been wanting to answer my question for quite some time now, actually.  Linguistics has always interested me.

Yeah, I remember that. Me too, actually. I went into TESL just because Ling. is not really a stable job.

But there's a link at the bottom of the page that leads to a PBS thing... looks interesting based on my short overview.

Everyone leaves when I get online. Time zones at work or something more sinister?

You decide.

I'm still here.  Sorry. LOL

If you ignore my silliness, you'll find a decent person in me.

I was just perusing that forum, actually.  Very interesting.  I'm actually more interested in the Australian/New Zealand dialect as both countries are a lot younger.

I prefer the New Zealand accent to the Australian one though.

And why do I always meet New Zealanders in the UK and not Australians?  It seems half of the New Zealand-born people have emigrated here.
