He speaks my thoughts. ![Tongue Tongue](smileys/smiley17.gif) Though I would like to get over to the UK next summer sometime, I think it'd be awesome.

I was watching a programme on television earlier about some Poms wanting to move to Auckland. It looked lovely.
Their daughter doesn't want to move there though. She wants to stay in the UK. I don't blame her, really. Her parents are living a dream and a lie, to be honest.
Not that I wouldn't mind emigrating one day but only if there's no family involved.

Thanks, June. I'll take a look.
I've been wanting to answer my question for quite some time now, actually. Linguistics has always interested me.

Yeah, I remember that. Me too, actually. I went into TESL just because Ling. is not really a stable job. But there's a link at the bottom of the page that leads to a PBS thing... looks interesting based on my short overview.

JJ (Brian) left too. I can't be sure, but I think MWH did too.

Everyone leaves when I get online. Time zones at work or something more sinister?
You decide.

I'm still here. Sorry. ![LOL LOL](smileys/smiley36.gif) If you ignore my silliness, you'll find a decent person in me. I was just perusing that forum, actually. Very interesting. I'm actually more interested in the Australian/New Zealand dialect as both countries are a lot younger. I prefer the New Zealand accent to the Australian one though. And why do I always meet New Zealanders in the UK and not Australians? It seems half of the New Zealand-born people have emigrated here.
