Also, when I saw Primus they didn't have an opening band, they just played two sets.

The Dead Kenny G's and Gogol toured on and off with them, sometimes both were there, sometimes neither. Gogol wasn't there for our show.

is that smooth jazz? I thought that "smooth" was like regular jazz? opposed to more free/avant stuff I figured Kenny G was pop?

Smooth jazz is a genre of its own, and I really haven't looked into it, I just know it's not for me.
