^Ooooooh, that drumming in the latter half of Last Chance... blows my mind every time.

Regarding Nil, I like all four songs, but the first half of "Cheating the Polygraph" is the best part of the album for me.  Gavin Harrison absolutely shines there, possibly my favorite bit of drum work by him and somewhat reminiscent of Chris Maitland's work in "Last Chance to Evacuate the Planet Earth..."

I love every track on Nil Recurring. It's a great EP.

I'm actually listening to Steven Wilson's track on the Pendulum CD now. It's actually a very good and catchy pop song. Co-written by Steve. It would be funny seeing this song played in clubs. It got to number one, this album, in Australia. People would have no idea they're dancing to a SW song, lol.

I have to say Normal is the strongest, with the title track very close behind. The other two tracks are great, but not quite as strong imo. Fantastic EP, though.

Just wondering what's everybody's favourite off Nil Recurring?

Personally I love the title track and Cheating The Polygraph equally. They are my favourite two.  What Happens Now? is not far behind either.  Normal is the weak link for me, I've heard enough of Sentimental I suppose LOL.

I'm a huge fan of Riverside, and frankly they're one of my examples that I use when people complain about the internet.  I think it's so incredibly cool that I guy from Pittsburgh, PA, USA can locate and buy CD's from a relatively obscure band (compared to popular music) from Poland.

Just bought the latest Pain Of Salvation album after reading through the reviews on Amazon... I've not listened to any of it so hopefully I won't be dissapointed.
Kashmir, you are missing the best Riverside album... The debut 'Out Of Myself' is awsome, a lot different to the other two you have, filled with space rock and the odd folk moment.

I've yet to get into Riverside; eventually will check them out though.

Listening to Wild Opera again now, awesome album.

Anyone into Riverside? I have also been listening to Engineers a lot recently, those guys are brilliant. Both albums are stunners. Shame they had to cancel there support slot for Porcupine Tree last year.

Yeah, indeed! Where do you think my username comes from?Wink

And yes I do like Riverside. I only have the two most recent ones (Rapid Eye Movement, and Anno Domini High Definition) but they're very good.

I know of Engineers, but haven't heard a lot of their music yet. They did remix Abandoner by Steven Wilson on the NSRGNTS RMXS CD!

I've only got one Anathema album, which I really haven't got into at all. I was expecting something completely different, though.

BIG thumbs up for the new PoS though, love that one.

^OK cool. I think I'm going to really enjoy Anathema then. We ought to compare CD collections, yes! Right now I'm listening to the new Pain of Salvation, which I also bought today. Reminds me of Led Zeppelin...

Anathema are very, very good... they are from my home town of Liverpool! When they started out, they were a Death Metal Group, but now they have changed style to a more 'progressive rock' sound. They are very heavily influenced by Pink Floyd, especially 'Wall' sounding era Floyd. I have only one album, 'Fragile Dreams' which is regarded on here as not only there best album, but a masterpiece of Prog. I like it very much. It also has 3/4 Pink Floyd bonus tracks covers at the end, which are very very good.
I've listened to snippets on Amazon of the songs on the new album, and it sounds like it's going to be a very good record. let me know what you think when you listen to it, as I may just make a punt myself!
I'd like to compare our CD collections Kashmir!

I really am a fanboy. Today I picked up Anathema's new album 'We're Here Because We're Here' which was mixed by Steven Wilson! I haven't even heard Anathema's music before! LOL Hope I like it. I've bought stuff from PT's label Kscope before, and enjoyed all of it (Pineapple Thief, No Man, etc) so I'm sure I will like it.

I also bought Pendulum's new album Immersion today, just because of the song feauturing Steve on vocals!

Definitely agree with you there, amazing concert. For me the only tracks I don't really like are Cheating The Polygraph and What Happens Now?, they seemed to be lacking a little bit of energy in comparison to the studio versions.

Well I finally got my copy of Anesthetize and watched the bluray last night.

Stunning. My favorite music DVD by far. The setlist is near-perfect (I don't like Halo as the closer...give me Trains any day!) and I love the inclusion of Half-Light and Drown With Me....Visually it's not just a concert. It's a concert FILM.

What can I say? I'm amazed.

^ I just love Nil Recurring (the track specifically).  It does strike me as being a bit KC-ish, especially because of Fripp's lead guitar work; it's very distinct!

I enjoyed the 18 minute preview on the Insurgentes DVDA album, so I can't wait to finally see the whole thing.

Way Out Of Here is a great track, yes. It sounds amazing live, too. Having seen them perform it a few months back. It's so cool that Fripp appears on it. The other track featuring Robert, the instrumental Nil Recurring, is great and King Crimson-y, too.
