Good question.

Now that I've seen it I would have to vote by their performance, which means I'd probably go with Kaylee.

I always imagined Zaphod's two heads to be arranged differently.  I haven't seen the original film though... was it like that in that version?

And no, Zaphod was annoying.

Besides, I think automatically of the characters being British.

Nope, this is how it was in the original series (not film Wink):

Have you heard the radio series James?  It's pretty great fun as well.  I haven't gotten to hear any of the Dirk Gently radio series yet. Cry

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency is a much better book than The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

I love both though.

Unfortunately I never have heard the radio version although I think I may have heard some of it once... or maybe that was a recent version.

But the film wasn't making me laugh.  Zaphod annoyed the crap out of me.

They only have the original 5 or 6 seasons of the radio series, so it must have been from that.  I prefer the Hitchhiker's Guide series to the Dirk Gently books, but I love both series.  I'm a Douglas Adams fanboy, basically. LOL

Also:  Trillian in the new movie was a much better fit than Trillian in the original series:
Original series:

Movie:

Along with the looks, Sandra Dickinson's voice annoys me for some reason.

LOL Someone needs to start a Firefly chick poll  then.

Kaylee wins.

Summer Glau's forehead is oddly pronounced and at worst looks fetal. At best she passed for a normal attractive person.

In the book it's implied they're next to each other, but that is technically very difficult to impossible. Somebody claimed that compromise was actually Adams' idea.

It was OK, but not that good. A lot of people thought the intro was the best part, and it was certainly the part that was actually creative independent from the book, but I thought it was just annoying.
