Yeah the estimate of $180 was Wayside's price, I hadn't been to ReR in a while.

Either way, any price that starts with 1 and has two numbers after it is expensive.

At least that's for 10 discs of material.  While I was looking into Boredoms earlier, I found they have a release which is 2CD+1DVD, $135.  Dead

And did you know that Derek Bailey adored Webern? It's all connected!
I read about this guy today in The Economist.

I love Anton Webern too.
And Webern DEFINITELY loved Schönberg Tongue

True, but that doesn't change the fact that I can't afford it. LOL

And have you looked real hard for Boredoms? Tongue

I've found some some places, yeah.  I can't say I'm in a huge hurry to check them out though, I was more interested in OOIOO.

The former. I noticed there's a box set for super cheap that I may purchase with my amazon credits.

22 discs for less than 50 USD.

Yeah, I just saw that one.  And from the Amazon Marketplace sellers it's 22 discs for around 30 with shipping.

There were some complaints about the lack of information in the booklets... kind of m=put me off since I'm no Stravinsky Expert. The ballet boxset looks nice also.

I have fun looking at all the classical music boxsets available.  The Mozart Edition boxset looks interesting.  170 CDs, his complete works, for $135 or less.  It's still a chunk of cash, but geez...you could do worse.

I would die if I had to listen to 170 CDs of Mozart.

Thank you Finn, I thought we could go topical! BTW, why did you post that spirituality article? Now we have another Mike vs. Rob religion argument going. :(

if you own a sodastream i hate you

topical titles sound good so long as I don't have to look at pictures of birds covered in oil.  that just rips my heart out.

well I thought it was an interesting article i suppose, and I enjoy reading the thoughts of people here.  Big smile
we have a great cross section of experience.

What I'd really like though is a Beethoven collection.

From what I'm reading in the reviews, most of the people haven't listened to all of it even after more than a year's time since they bought it.
