^ I just checked Amazon again, and it now just says it's a reissue of "Nil Recurring"-June 27th (no mention of the title Exorcism).

Umm.. you got me there. Instrumental versions? Alternate cuts of FOABP material? If so, I'd be forced to buy it, of course LOLEmbarrassed

But I suspect its probably just a standard reprinting.

^ If it's just a standard reissue, even in 5.1, I probably won't buy it.   I've been spending too much on music lately anyhow.

Spookily just recieved On the Sunday of Life yesterday and has recieved only 1 play so far.

I suppose the tracks previously mentioned, - eg Radioactive Toy, Nine Cats, It will rain.... are the ones that hit you straight away (probably from reading about them before), but will be able to give a better judgement after a few more plays.

Gavin is the BEST MODERN PROG DRUMMER AGAIN!

6/5/2010

Gavin Harrison at Number 1.

Congratulations to Gavin on being voted Number 1 Progressive Rock Drummer in the 2010 readers poll of Modern Drummer magazine. Just in case you didn’t know, Modern Drummer is the world's biggest and longest running drum magazine and this is the fourth time in a row that Gavin has won this award. Gavin says “I’d like to thank everyone who voted for me.”

He very much deserves it. Keep rocking Gav! Thumbs Up Rawks

Great to hear Gavin doing well again - definitely a deserved award for one of the best drummers ever.

Listening to no-man's Schoolyard Ghosts right now. Truenorth has to be one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard; simply stunning.

From MySpace:

There’s a fantastic opportunity to own some original artwork by the man who has played such a part in defining PT’s visual identity and presence over the years. Lasse Hoile has several items for sale via his website.

There are only 20 posters available (including a few incredible value poster sets that gets you Halo, Stupid Dream and Mother And Child image that was taken during the Deadwing photo sessions.

In addition to the posters and the few poster sets, there are also some extremely rare original items for purchase including a signed and framed edition of one print of an image taken during The Incident photoshoot but which was never used.

Of course low grade thumbnails don't really do the work justice so check out Lasse’s store for more details of this unique offer

I was thinking about getting the Stupid Dream poster, but 33 pounds posted is way too much for me to pay for a poster.

Yeah, Lasse's PT work is well worth the money... i just don't have it.  My favorite are probably The Incident photographs. Very creepy, dark, and original.

I can't believe Pagan and I are the only two reviews on the site so far (for the new DVD).  What's taking you guys?   LOL
...that moment you realize you like "Mob Rules" better than "Heaven and Hell"

I just decided to spin Fear of a Blank Planet again (which I was having trouble getting into because I found the second track to be utterly boring), but wow, was it worth it.  Anesthetize is absolutely beautiful.  That chorus and following riffs are phenomenal.

You're only half-right, I'm afraid. Anesthetize is absolutely beautiful, to be sure, but My Ashes is an incredible track too, IMO. Wink

Seriously, though, FoaBP is one of the most dividing albums they've ever done. I, for one, loved it from day one, and I don't see what the fuss is all about.

Don't blame me, blame Burning Shed!
Mine should be arriving this week, so a review will most definitely be in order for this weekend.

Just fixed up the setlist on the album page for the DVD as well, surprised to see it only has 2 reviews so far and didn't even have a setlist

There was a FOABP + Nil Recurring 5.1 master, both on the same DVD-A, which was available to the ROABP last year. Wish I was a member back then, they're fetching 100 USD on ebay now

^I've got the FOABP DVDA with the Nil Recurring tracks on it. Got it a few months ago, from a Polish website (www.rockserwis.pl) for normal price, so they are still around!

Received Blackfield I and II the other day in the mail. Superb albums! How the hell does Steve maintain the quality across so many projects?

Also, just built up enough customer points from ordering SHM CD's on this site (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp) to get the 2CD version of Insurgentes, which comes with the 4 bonus tracks (only available in Japan and on the super special edition)

http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=IECP-20158

Really excited to hear the other tracks.
