Yeah that's what I was thinking
Still, how much would everyone hate it if there DSO was in there next to Henry Cow and UZ? |

That's simply my opinion. IF X is there why not Y? is NOT A VALID ARGUMENT! If you think they''d should be there HTCF, don't change it cause i said. Also, Matt...which bands? Edited by Evolutionary Sleeper - May 19 2010 at 22:55 |

Prog Metal is just as valid though, but the crazy genre mixing just seems more avant to me.

It'll suit them great, but the most important thing is that they are definitely not tech/extreme.

I'd say DSO are Avant Prog Metal, but they could fit in Experimental/Post as well. We'll see what the rest of the PMT says.

That's another good place. Better than RIO/Avant even. I bow to your superior metalness. Edited by A Person - May 19 2010 at 23:07 |

Experimental/Post is basically a genre for progressive metal bands who are more fluid in structure and style. These bands would often blend avant elements into compositions, while not being strictly technical or based around 'metal' styles and structures. It also includes Post/Sludge bands.
Plus, they don't sound like DT. |

That's what I was thinking, but mixing avant elements with metal is just as prog as mixing symphonic, but I guess Experimental/Post is where those go? |

Exp/Post is my area of interest, and I would have put DSO in there. Basically, you can substitute the "Experimental" name for "Avant".
They mean much the same to me. |
