June 2009 Featured Artist is VANGOUGH a great Progressive Metal artist originating from USA.

They released their first album in 2009, titled Manikin Parade

The bands is promoting 3 full tracks available on their artist page , or on the front page spot.

Here's the band bio , writted by MAN OVERBOARD

VANGOUGH is a progressive metal band from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma led by producer, composer, lyricist, vocalist, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Clay Withrow.

VANGOUGH has self released their debut album "Manikin Parade" in April of 2009. Abe Hartley (keyboards) and Brandon Lopez (BECOMING THE ARCHETYPE-drums) contribute to the recording and it was mixed by Sterling Winfield (PANTERA).

VANGOUGH create a distinct blend of driving, rhythmic metal with theatrical and symphonic melodic overtones. They include many stylistic elements of their influences: PAIN OF SALVATION, DREAM THEATER, EVERGREY, A.C.T., SYMPHONY X and THE FLOWER KINGS.

I don't have this album (as of yet)

But I've listened to the 3 tracks posted on PA about 6 times each now

Needless to say, I'm impressed!

Reviewed this album recently and I think this band has potential for something greater - very good prog metal and very promising for a debut album

I, being a lover of NES, couldn't help but notice that the new Vangough album has a clear video game theme to it.

The font of the album title is similar to that of the Castlevania series.

"Wily's Castle" seems to pay tribute to the villain of my favorite video game series ever, Mega Man.

"Marine Fortress" comes from Wave Race 64, I believe.

"Simon's Revenge," hearkening back to the Castlevania theme, would be based on Simon Belmont.

"Your Darkest Hour" seems to hint toward the mod for the PC game Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45.

"The Turtle King's Lair" is likely a a piece about King Koopa, aka, Bowser from Super Mario Bros.

"Green Hill Terror" reminds me of Sonic the Hedgehog's first level, "Green Hill Zone."

"Corneria" is a planet on Star Fox, I know.

"The Killer Instinct"...well, there was a popular fighting game called Killer Instinct that had insane combos.

"Torvus Bog" is from Metroid Prime 2.

"Coral Capers," as I recall, is an aquatic level on Donkey Kong Country for N64.

I don't know whether to shout "plagiarism!" Angry or slobber in glee. Shocked  I love Overlcoked remix, and what I found on Youtube pleased me.  Big smile
