Man.  Magma needs to make a studio recording of Zëss, according to the standards Vander set in an interview about it: "I mentioned one day that Zess would probably fill 5 records. At the time, 5 records was equal to about 3 hours of music. So I imagined Zess to be 3 hours long. So I probably mentioned "5 albums" one day."

Me too, now I just have to find some way to convince Vander to be too. Tongue  I'm hoping for more material from the band but I have to keep in mind that he's getting up there in years.  Unhappy

the only Magma material I've heard is MDK (incredible), De Futura (incredible), and one song from the debut (quite good). I've tried to listen to Kohntarkosz a few times in grooveshark, but it just didn't impress me much.

At least that many, I hope.  He's becoming to me what John Coltrane was to him.

I'm maybe in the minority as far as Magma fans go, but I don't like the studio version of Kohntarkosz very much.  The live version on Live/Hhai, though...that's the good stuff.

Yeah, even if he doesn't his contribution to music is still immeasurable.

Indeed.  For my personal musical experience, he's created several of the best compositions/albums of all time.

I usually avoid live albums from anyone, though I've heard some good live stuff- however, I've also heard some really bad sound quality. I'm guessing from the love it gets that L/H is good sonically, so I should give that a listen soon. But not now, too absorbed in Third Big smile.

I'd need to hear way more Magma, but even with my limited experience I think I'd agree.

I've got four live Magma albums (Live/Hhai, Retrospektiw I-II, Concert 1976: Opera de Reims and La Trilogie Theusz Hamtaahk) and they're all pretty great sonically.  Concert 1976 is a bit lower than the rest IMO, but it's still good.
