Even in the mid-90's there were some fantastic albums. Pick your favorite, if you can choose ONE! Wink

NOTE: I'm only listing albums that i own!
(exept Frusciante's album, that i've heard as whole)

5-stars:
Mellon Collie And the Infinite Sadness
Welcome to Sky Valley
Alice in Chains
Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T Shirt
Superunknown

4-stars:
One Hot Minute
Jar Of Flies
In Utero
Unplugged
Purple
Down on the Upside

3-stars:
VS
King for a Day, Fool For a Lifetime
MTV Unplugged in New York
Tiny Music... Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop

So Obviously, i'm not voting for just ONE LOL

I will usually pick Smashing Pumpkins out of these polls, and this is no exception. Mellon Collie is their best album.

Haven't heard them all, but I doubt something can get funkier than One Hot Minute from the ones listed.

Red Hot get my vote.

Indeed it is funky, it's a good album with some nice songs, but it lacks the spark, energy and songwriting that Frusciante adds.
And at times they sound more like Jane's Addiction than RHCP. I love Jane's Addiction, though
However, "Aeroplane", "Walkabout", "Falling into Grace" & "Transcending" are great songs! Smile

"Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T-Shirt" is probably the most raw, dirty & messy album i've heard that at the same time is so pure, expressive and beautiful CryClap

In Utero, their best album. Followed closely by AiC Unplugged and my favourite FNM album.
