'Tranquility' from England. They released 2 LP's, the self-titles 'Tranquility' and the stellar "Silver". Odd metered Pop/Prog ala 'Jellyfish' with great songwriting and 5 part harmonies. Hard, if not impossible to find; but a group that deserves overdue recognition. Anyone ever heard them ?

"Satellite" is a new album by British prog outfit Panic Room. Their first album "Visionary Position" is on the site but not this one, even though it was released 1st December 2009 and it is, if anything, even better than its predecessor. Please add a.s.a.p.!
I am going to see them play in London in May, and would love to review this new album first. |

I'm enjoying the new Jaga Jazzist CD "One Armed Bandit". I haven't heard any of their older stuff but I see they are listed here under Jazz Rock/Fusion. Certainly, while there is a strong jazz component, I'm not sure that genre gives a good indication of what to expect here. This new album has a very proggy sound to my ears - there are fragments that could have come off a 70s Yes album - but mixed with a more modern electronic sound.

I recommend Samahdi - ST - old RPI gem that took me ages to get, but it was worth the wait. -Some of the most beautiful symphonic prog I´ve come across.
Furthermore the new Astra and 5bridges - rrrrrrrrraaaauuuu!!!!!! |

I recommend a new band from Quebec sounding like Harmonium, they had released their first album in 2009 named '' De l'autre côté du monde'', their name is Hune and that's a very good emerging group of Symphonic Prog: you can heard some sample of their album on their myspace: http://www.myspace.com/huneprog

Lately I came across a fantastic one man project by Michael S. Judge working under the name Sinthome. He recently released an album called Ficciones. Listen here:

Sinthome's second LP, entitled FICCIONES and featuring a guest appearance by Jacob Holm-Lupo of White Willow and Opium Cartel fame, is currently in the final stages of completion & looking for a label.
