'Tranquility' from England. They released 2 LP's, the self-titles 'Tranquility' and the stellar "Silver". Odd metered Pop/Prog ala 'Jellyfish' with great songwriting and 5 part harmonies. Hard, if not impossible to find; but a group that deserves overdue recognition. Anyone ever heard them ?

I recommend israeli classic rock for any prog fan since there is a lot of progginess going on:
*Gronich & Caspi - Behind the Sounds (Avant masterpiece)
*Schlomo Gronich - Why Didin't You Tell Me? (Eclectic awesomeness... reminds me of early Zappa)
*Schlomo Gronich - Cotton Candy (Eclectic prog masterpiece.... should be considered in this website....)
*Ktzat Acheret (Another eclectic prog masterpiece)
*Tzlil Mechuvan (More eclectic awesomeness)
*Tamuz - The Orange Season Is Over (classic rock masterpiece with a proggy twist)
*Sheshet (fusion masterpiece)
*Shem-Tov Levi and Schlomo Gronich - The Family Album (great eclectic album.... with some Gentle Giantish sounds)
*Yoni Rechter - Intentions (crossover prog.... amazing mix of israeli pop/jazz/symphonic/rock)
*Schlomo Ydov - The First Time (often compared with Camel.... great symph prog)
*Apocalypse (incredible psych band)
*Atmosphera - Lady of Shalott (good Yes clone)
*The Churchills (proto-prog psych with Mediterranean elements)
*Rechter, Kenner & Levi - 18 Octaves (israeli prog rock masterpiece)
*Danny Ben-Israel - Bullsh*t 3 1-4 and The Katmandu Sessions (if you think that Zappa is intense....wait 'till you listen to this)
*Arik Einstein & Shalom Chanoch - Shablool (psych proto-prog)
*Kaveret - Poogy VePita (Classic rock humorous, conceptual and theatric band with some proggy elements in some songs)
*Matti Caspi (mix of variety of styles including...but not limited to... jazz, bossa nova, classical, israeli folk, israeli pop, etc. with an occasional rock touch)
*Shem-Tov Levi (highly accomplished fusion piano and flute player)
*Yehudit Ravitz (Israeli folk singer with an amazing voice and some occasional jazz and rock elements)

"Satellite" is a new album by British prog outfit Panic Room. Their first album "Visionary Position" is on the site but not this one, even though it was released 1st December 2009 and it is, if anything, even better than its predecessor. Please add a.s.a.p.!
I am going to see them play in London in May, and would love to review this new album first.

Everyone can add albums to discographies, feel free to do so if you're so eager Smile

I'm enjoying the new Jaga Jazzist CD "One Armed Bandit".  I haven't heard any of their older stuff but I see they are listed here under Jazz Rock/Fusion.  Certainly, while there is a strong jazz component, I'm not sure that genre gives a good indication of what to expect here. This new album has a very proggy sound to my ears - there are fragments that could have come off a 70s Yes album - but mixed with a more modern electronic sound.

I recommend a new band from Quebec sounding like Harmonium, they had released their first album in 2009 named '' De l'autre côté du monde'', their name is Hune and that's a very good emerging group of Symphonic Prog: you can heard some sample of their album on their myspace: http://www.myspace.com/huneprog

If you ad them, that will be a pleasure for me to make their first review. Merci beaucoup, Étienne.

'Already the best music pick of 2010' - Rolling Stone

'Right in between Genesis and Muse.. hear this!' - Johan Ruijsink

I recommend:
Kingston Wall, from Finland! It's not entirely prog rock, but it's still an awesome band. Wish the singer wouldn't have committed suicide so they could have made more albums Unhappy

Lately I came across a fantastic one man project by Michael S. Judge working under the name Sinthome. He recently released an album called Ficciones. Listen here:
http://www.myspace.com/sinthometheband

If you like it, it's available for download only through ReR USA and iTunes.

His myspace bio:
Sinthome is the ongoing project of the American musician/writer Michael S. Judge, born in Kansas City, MO (where he contributed, in some degree, to the local DIY scene before its degeneration into the present hipster commodity morass) and currently living in Denton, TX. Sinthome's second LP, entitled FICCIONES and featuring a guest appearance by Jacob Holm-Lupo of White Willow and Opium Cartel fame, is currently in the final stages of completion & looking for a label. The previous album, A WOMAN HAS GIVEN BIRTH TO A CALF'S HEAD, received positive notices from Chris Cutler (Henry Cow, Art Bears, News from Babel) and Brian Godding (Blossom Toes, Keith Tippett's Centipede) among others.

MGMT new album, CONGRATULATIONS.

Not prog, but the track entitled, Brian Eno, put a smile on my face.
