Sorry Pat, I listened to the Cheer Accident samples again because of pomte's thread, but most of it sounds like generic avant-rock to me, and the guitar unpleasantly reminds me of Thinking Plagues' In This Life. I almsot always have a problem with dissonant pop, I ran into the same problem with This Heat.

No need to apologize - I'm not in the band Wink

^LOL

In other news Wadada Leo Smith's new album, Spiritual DImensions, is completely off the wall amazing. Gotta be in the top 10 for the year. Nearly 2 and a half hours, but it never seems like it drags on...Entertaining throughout. Approve

Avant-garde Jazz. Free Jazz. Really upbeat stuff with great solos. I'm not even really a big fan of free jazz honestly, but this album is just so great.

It's a 2 disc album with 2 totally different lineups. With the second disc featuring 4 guitarists. Shocked

If you outright don't like free jazz at all you might not want to get it. Unless you're feeling adventurous. Wink

However, if there was an album to change your mind about the genre...this may be it.

Music.  As an example, right now I'm listening to Hhai (Live).

The example included a kind of music, I'm sure you can guess who that album's by, and through the artist you have the genre.
