Well despite pressure from "alternative hip youth culture" London still retains some Kudos for rockers -

Soho - Dean street and Wardour street still have plenty of shops selling records, guitars and drums, there are some great  venues such as 100 Club,  Shepherd's Bush Empire, Mean Fiddler, Wembley Arena and Hammersmith Apollo that have Rock bands, and an immeasurable amount of small pubs bashing out "Can't get Enough" on Jam Nite...and a bustling trade in "Tribute" bands.

it's all happening! Big smile

despite brainwashing by the "media" there is still a lot of support for Rock worldwide, though not so apparent in the UK ....but just look what happened when Cream, The Police and Led Zeppelin got back together...Approve

the X Factor is just....tiny   Tongue

I think Ian Hunter said that "England Rocks".  Believe it was Drew Carey spouting that Cleveland thing.  Wink
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

I have moved to the town of Rotherham, UK about a year or so ago. Rotherham is situated in north-central England, very close to Sheffield. Both Rotherham and Sheffield have a fame of being 'rock' places, i.e. quite a history behind them in rock musicians and bands deriving from these places. Even in the year 2009, there seem to be various clubs, bars, pubs, venues that retain this fame of rock/prog etc.

My fiancee often teases me with the quote: ''you found the right place to live'' LOL

Which are the cities around the world which have the fame of being on flames with rock/prog music?
Are there such cities which retain a 'rock' character? My experience so far has been quite positive...
