I'm sure it's easily available in Australia.

You could also just roll Eucalyptus smokes.  It's not as fun but it may give you a slight buzz.

Isn't eucalyptus poisonous?

Not sure... I'm sure I've had it once.  Koala's eat it... but then they probably have an immunity.

Mistletoe berries are poisonous though.

Ooooh, how about you go on a trek to find some Shrooms?

Funny shroom story time - One of the douchebags of which we spoke said he wanted some 'shrooms...

So my friend cooked a regular mushroom from the supermarket until it was black, told everyone at a party, made the douchebag eat it and told everyone he was faking being insanely high.

Then we told him, and he told us he was really bought another one before the party

It's not tobacco.

I mean, yes, it is tobacco but it's not actually tobacco.  Tolkien couldn't exactly say it was marijuana...

Actually, Tolkien was such a boring guy, it probably was just tobacco. LOL  He wasn't as crazy as C.S. Lewis.

And James, while I concede that Tolkein is not the most fluid writer, if you think it's just them walking through the forest, you're missing the point by a staggering amount.

Uh....Why would a wizard smoke pot? He needs be mentally sharp. And I don't think there is any pot in CS Lewis either.

I know it's not just that.  I've read The Hobbit (a much better book!), so I know what the story is about (well, I know what's it's based on).

I think it's just the first book... it's just incredibly slow to get going.  I gather things pick up in The Two Towers.

Why do you need drugs when you have Tom Bombadil?

I never understood what was with that guy. The whole digression doesn't feel like it belongs at all.

No but Lewis was far more crazy.  I suspect Opium was smoked at some point in his writing of Alice in Wonderland. LOL

Because it's magical pot, not the stuff we have.  This enhances his magical powers. Wink

When I first read that he smoked pipe-weed, I immediately thought it referred to pot.

I guess he is supposedly a personification of nature, and it shows how even Sauron's power doesn't affect him, or something. And no, I haven't looked that up on a LotR fan site. Or maybe I have.

Sounds appropriate... I have a super-badass name change lined up for when I leave for bound though

He's actually one of the oldest and most powerful beings about.  His story was never really fully expanded (although there is a separate book about him which is impossible to find, I think).  I gather he has a lot more to do with the story than many people think.

But yes, he's annoying and that's probably why he was left out of the film.

If he was in the film, they could have got Fish to play him.

Scrap that...

Phil Collins would have been perfect. LOL

Peter Gabriel might have been able to pull it off when he was younger.
