I haven't heard of any pre-order sites to date.  Personally I'm hoping that Roine will have copies of it for sale on the Agents of Mercy / Karmakanic tour.  If they do, I'm picking a copy up on the 14th of October.  Two whole weeks before the release date.

God I sound like a geek.

The sad thing is that he won't tell us who they are . . . please Barney, who are these lasses, I'll include you on the next list that I put together if you tell us.

Oh, and glad to hear that you have a new copy of "The Flower King" I believe Roger is going to be rather jealous.

Seriously man, come clean with the girls Tongue

Well, the reason I liked the Flower Kings right away back in 1999 was because they sounded so much like Yes (which was my favorite band at that time).  Not a clone, but very strong and obvious influence.  There are other of course, especially Zappa (Genesis, not so much........but Crimson and ELP certainly are noticeable).  On Back In The World through Flower Power, I'm not sure how anyone could miss the very heavy Howe influence on Roine's playing (as a guitar player for many years, also influenced by Howe, I find it to be quite strong and obvious).  Not so much in the feature solos, which are all Roine, but in the rhythm parts and in the lead interjections and "flavorings" (it's all over the Stardust epic).

Starting with Space Revolver, the Yes influence has been lessened to my ears, but has never gone away.  And Yes having more "happy" sections that TFK????   I've honestly never heard ANY band with more happy sections and upbeat, positive music than TFK (though Yes is probably the closest in the prog world.....that I've heard anyway).

And Roland, I'll definetly be seeing you at the Pittsburgh show.  A friend of mine who lives in the Burgh is going with me, and it will be his first experience with prog, let alone TFK related music (except what he heard from me years ago when we lived together).  He's not a fan, but likes live music and wants to come along.  Should be interesting  Big smile

Or email Will @ [email protected]

and ask him if you can pre-order - if he gets enough interest it might be worth his while - as he says that he doesn't want to make a loss..............

Alright Flokis fans, this is one of my best friends from school, Brian!Clap

It's sad that 99.99999% of our discussions at school are either about The Flower Kings, Genesis, Dream Theater, Spock's Beard, or anything prog. Anyway, you may want to just check online. They might have it on iTunes, but our record store is pretty good with that sort of pre-ordering stuff.

*laughs* ok, now I feel a little creepy.  Your son has umm, attractive friends (please note, I'm now burying my head in the nearest open receptacle).

Hey Brian,

Welcome to the club.

And I wouldn't consider that your discussions center on good music to be sad, rather a show of fine character.

Regarding anything prog, if you wait for it to actually hit the stores, you'll be waiting some time.  I'd go Amazon or ordering it directly from the band and have it shipped.  It's going to be about as quick as you get.

Good deal, we'll have to get together and talk at the show.  You've seen both my wife and myself a few pages ago, I'll give you an idea of what we'll be wearing closer to the show.  This should be cool.

I reckon that prog gets a better press in the U.S of A as in main land Europe - The music press in Britain are always sl*gging it off - when I mention the Flower Kings in work - I always get the "do they wear wizards hats and skate on ice" comment - Sterotypical derision is all I ever come across in blighty............
