I'm hoisting The Shed back onto page one whilst the SR v. 'James Talk about Zeuhl Tennis et al' thread has fallen onto page two.

Well done Lee

Quick cholesterol update - after god knows how many dietary changes over the last 4 months, I managed to reduce my count from 7.6 to 7.3 (the bad LDL count is 4.6 )

GP has now put me onto statins... deep joy

Your puns will be the death of you, young man!

As opposed to any kind of food, which will evidently be the death of me... my GP (great name, BTW - Dr Savage) will be telling me to give up my deep-fried cheddar, lard & double cream sandwiches next

Actually, that sounds quite nice - that's dinner tonight sorted, then

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

I think you might be reduced to a round of bread and dripping (with extra salt on, of course...Wink), washed down with a glass of Channel Island's finest,  for your supper, Jim.. LOL

I was talking to one of his most religious patients the other day... some guy from the Philippines called Cardinal Sin
It's not that I can't find worth in anything, it's just that I can't find worth in enough.

I bumped into two lovely people in Swindon town centre yesterday.  I think you'll know who.

It was good to see you both!  We had a very brief chat about prog festivals whilst my mate looked on confused...

But at least she said after, that she has possibly heard of Pendragon...

I shall all see you again at the weekend, as I'm off to Wales until Friday.  Have a good week (what remains of it). Big smile

After careful consideration & having heard every horror story possible yesterday re side effects of Statins & the checks needed to be made before prescription & warnings which should have (and were not) been given, I have decided not to fill the prescription until I've spoken to my GP again.

Especially given the fact he told me he should not prescribe to a man under 50 years old with a cholesterol count of under 10; to do so, he altered my records to say I was a very heavy smoker who refused point blank to consider giving up... at the time, seemed a reasonable way to be prescribed statins, but on reflection if any company needs to see my medical records... also, I want to know more about this drug before I put it in my system.

Maybe my next appointment should be with a different GP in the practice...

Understandable question - problem is, Dr Savage has been a great GP to me over the last 10 years & the other GPs in the practice are equally good; it's just this current issue which concerns me...

I'm not surprised. Altering your records so he can prescribe you a drug? He could be struck off for that (maybe).

Dr Savage?  Is he in the right profession?
When people get lost in thought it's often because it's unfamiliar territory.

- Trust me - that is not the Dr Savage I see; let's just say I'm deep in thought as to what my next move should be (a genuine case of damned if you do & damned if you don't) - but for the time being, I'm not going to worry about it.

Instead, I'm going to concentrate on looking forward to & enjoying 2 weeks on Newfoundland, beginning this time next week.

Jeez - I'm ready for a holiday.
