I recently acquired a copy of Supertramp's eponymous debut album on CD, which is a rare find here in the US, since it is was only remastered in foreign countries (my copy is from Argentina), and consequently is only available as an import. The CD is brand new, unopened in its original packaging.

I'm well experienced in finding the best deals on buying new and used CDs, but not so much on the other end of the spectrum. I'm wondering where the best venue would be to sell something like this. Should I go to a larger retailer like FYE, or a small independent local store, or am I going to need to resort to Amazon or eBay?

I doubt that larger retailers would be a good option, as I was recently offered an insulting $0.25 apiece at FYE for used albums I paid eight dollars for there. And due to the nature of independent stores to be... well, independent, I doubt I'd get much of a reasonable offer unless the owner happened to be a massive Supertramp fan.

So, I figured a collective of prog fans would probably be a good source and more informed than I am on such a subject. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Ebay is quite good - You'll usually sell it at a good price quite quickly...

I've never used AMAZON for independent selling, sorry.
Ebay is quite good though - I'd reccomend you only accept PAYPAL for payments, just for safety.

Good luck!

Ebay, also has the haggle free half.com, which is where I've sold all the stuff I was needing to part with and find a good home for.  Which reminds me, I still have a huge stack of stuff to offer up.Embarrassed

I haven't tried Amazon yet.  Anyone here used that to sell and want to tell us your opinion of it?

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

My experience with Amazon has been strictly buying but I imagine it must be similar to eBay when it comes to selling. There should be some sort of charge for listing and selling items through them.
