Though I do love Roy Halladay (sp?) The guy is money.

This Orioles team is going to be phenomenal two years from now. MacPhail has done an incredible job in building a young team; they have so many young players just getting ready to burst into the system (Wieters started his first game Friday). And they all have extremely promising futures. The level of excitement, at least among my group of Orioles friends, is unprecedented

They've already prepared Wieter's plaque at Cooperstown:

A batting average that puts Ty Cobb to shame!!!

When I was little, I had a wild imagination and the resumes of the Oriole Hall of Famers I created would never match the greatness of this plaque. No one ever stole on him in 23 year career LOLClap

Curse the Buccos and their fantasy cluster f'ning
I maybe a Burgher but I've gone to hating the Buccos, not for their acceptence of futility (though that was the original reason) but for their occassional break from patheticness to make a fantasy impact.  Since there is never a reason to ever have any bucco on your fantasy roster (unless your in a 20 team mixed league with a 35 player bench) this is always a negative impact and very rarely ever makes any sense.  The Bucs beating up Santana? What the hell is that bs?

The Dodger overcame a 5-1 deficit in the 8th last night to beat the snakes.  They almost came back on Monday as well having two shots down the line caught with the tying run on third in the ninth. I am very pleased with this team. They never seem to give up or in.  I guess these kids have finally grown up.  The really amazing thing is they are doing it without the long ball.  They have scored 295 runs with only 37 HRs. They average 5.46 runs per game while holding opponents to 3.85.  Almost all of it without Kuroda who was  their best starting pitcher and half of it without Ramirez arguably their best hitter, certainly their best power hitter. That is amazing to me and would never have considered it two years ago.  If the starters keep going a bit longer in the games and the bullpen holds up I think this team is pretty good.  The bench players seem to have almost the same ability as the starters so Torre is giving his everyday players a good amount of rest when needed.
They have won or tied 13 of the 17 series they have completed this year with the only drawback is losing two of those to the No Cals, you know, the hated ones Angry

Lets see they have the best record in baseball 18 games over 500 in June and lead their division by 9 and yet not one player leading as a starter in the All Star ballet. I guess the fans are too busy knocking around a beach ball than voting. LOL

Tongue

As a Bucco fan I will take any win that might get them over the .500 plateau at the end of the season over any fantasy baseball league win.

I'm going to be attending college in Pittsburgh and I plan on going to a lot of Bucco games....in order to see the rest of the NL play.

Where you going to school?

And a loss for the Yanks today.....Pettitte(sp?) really wasn't hot but he kept the damage minimal and made some big outs. Too bad the offense couldn't make up. I think they suffered with Mark out. (For the life of me I can't spell his last name LOL)

And I can always remember how to spell Teixeira because both vowel combination are "ei".

Sweet! My friend's cousin actually just graduated from there. We all went to Pittsburgh, using that as the excuseLOL. Nice place and nice city!

And did the Yanks play a game this afternoon? Apparently so...at least they won.

If I were a Priates fan I would be pissed off about that trade they just made.  THey had an all star outfield in the making and now two of them are gone.

Yea, a friend of mine is one the verge of abandoning the Pirates. I never condone giving up on your team...but I can't blame him. 15 (or 16?) straight losing seasons and this habit of selling away their stars.
Wacko

They've been rebuilding for....how long?  Nate the Great was supposed to be the leader of this rebuilt franchise, and now they trade him away for players that will almost certainly not be ready for about three years.  It should be noted, though, that the reason they were so quick to pull the trigger on this deal is that they had a really beastly CF in AAA that they just called up that will be a defensive improvement while playing pretty good offense.

I was pissed off last season when they dealt away Bay and the rest of the team. This surprised me a little bit but I expect it from this team. They will be lucky to see a .500 season before Robert Fripp openly allows recording and pictures at a KC show.

Marte has yet to do anything good for the Yanks and Nady's always had that damn elbow issue.  I don't even miss him, frankly; IMO Swisher's a little bit better (as he is more versatile), and we got him for Wilson Betemit, who I would have been happy to GIVE away.

They played Betemit at third one game last season, and I don't think I've ever seen a more pathetic defensive performance.  I don't think he had any errors, but that was because he didn't get his glove on anything.  A freaking cardboard cutout of A-Rod would have more range.  And probably hit better.
